They actually pulled of a very good sequel to the first game. It ties perfectly to the story of the first one (which you should definitely play too) and nicely wrapped it all up.

Admittedly my PC is poor but the performance is alright enough for a puzzle game and despite running it on medium with FSR set to balanced, it still manages to look gorgeous. There is the self inflicted playing through steam proton but it works after you add launch command.

Now for the puzzles, oooh the puzzles. They are simply put too easy. I did get stuck for a few minutes on some (because I overthink) but overall they were easy. I get that they needed to make it accessible and not require to play the first game but I hoped the gold puzzles really wrinkle your brain but they don't really. Your mileage may wary but if you played the first don't expect to get challenged hard. Now if we are getting DLC at some point and someone on Croteam happens to read this, DO NOT GO EASY ON US PLEASE. Make it hurt.

If you liked the first game you will like this too. It may not live up to be as great as the first one but it's not by any means terrible aside from the performance. If you are a first timer you will like it too buy playing the first game makes you appreciate the story more. And the story is good imo, characters likeable (love Mel), soundtrack is amazing and I can't wait to buy it too. if you are still on the fence then definitely get this on sale. Going to be cheaper than it already is for brand new game.

If you love exploring, piecing together scattered lore, puzzles or any combination of the three do not hesitate and buy the game. Or hell even if you do not like any of this buy it anyway. Do not look up ANYTHING! Do not visit the community hub, do not visit the subreddit, do not look it up on Youtube! The less you know, the better.

As people said I saw it posted on reddit. It's free and it's roughly 2 hours of puzzle goodness. I would definitely without a doubt pay for longer, more fleshed out version in the future. The claymation is very charming with it's crudeness.
Only real negative I have there is no music (except at the end, which you will love), nor any ambient sounds like wind so it's a bit quiet apart from your footsteps and wand swooshing.

Note I am not a veteran and bought the game after NEXT so here is just my observation.

Initially this game was pretty awful from what I saw. Buggy, ran poorly and there were tons of things hyped up but never were there. Such as multiplyer. Fast forwards to today and when compared to it's release, tons better. On it's own though it's not perfect but still a decent space exploration game. Multiplayer is there and it works but can be buggy still. Base building is nice but the need to connect every single light with ugly blue glowing wire is just dismaying. Please Hello games make them paintable and able to make invisible. And lastly world-gen. Vegetation can be repetetive. Animal variation is better than vegetation slightly. And terrain is repetetive too with samey hills and mountains and very limited colour palletette. There are ways to make tons of money, but very little reason to spend it. The most expensive things are max slot freighter and haulers so. And it is a bit grindy. Mainly said money but also base parts, item crafting recipes and such.

I could go on about little details but that seems a bit unecessary. (except maybe ship customisation maybe HG? make the parts hard to get or something)

Is this game worth it? Kinda? If you are not so bitter about Hello Games lying even after they added the things despite the hate and backlash (I am very glad they didn't just grab the money and ran away with tail between their legs). And like space exploration and can deal with the repetition then do get it, on sale. 55€ is pretty steep for this game even if it's better than on launch. Maybe once they hopefully expand heavily on the world-gen then maybe, maybe it will be worth full price.
