This game has some serious sound issues on PC which do not exist on the PS4. They have somehow messed up the effect layer for NPC and vehicles, maybe even more. The world feels even more empty thanks to this.

Great game. It still may has some flaws, but gamplay-wise it realy is a great expirience. Currently is only RT something, which causes problems, though I guess it get fixed sooner or later.

Hey, SE isn't it time to release the update (the one from the Microsoft gamepass) here on Steam as a new game (and please don't give us owners of this version a discount as you usually never do when selling a patch) and hide this one, so you get no negative reviews?

Next game from SquareEnix which has a patch which you have to buy for another version of the game. Go on SE. You loose more and more customers for your high priced medicore games (though DQ is still a great game).

Other companies give the upgrade for free (Witcher 3 as example) other give at last a discount.

For a remake it's fine, but still it isn't a good one. A good remake would have improved every aspect of the game. The friends AI was worse in the original but acceptable considering the hardware it runs on. But this remake made it even worsen, I'm not even sure they have an AI now. I used different settings but either they bombard someones target or they attack the enemies which are directly infront of them. And most of the time they stay together.
Another drawback is the gamplay. They removed the invaluble time of the enemies. Instead of that they should have removed the get ready time and find a different solution for the power attacks, because to prevent you from damage the party have to spam their attacks when they are ready. This brings me to the other problem of the game. The high chance of evading. When you decide to waste your time with a charge of an attack then the game does rewarding it with a MISS. Another reason not to charge on top of the time it takes and the slowdown of your movement.
The graphic could have been more unique with different loking trees and such things, even for a Vita game is the graphic a shame. Same counts for the unneeded cutscenes.

What I do like are the shortcuts, the new scenes in the inn, while they actually interrupting my spell grinding, and also the voice acting is a nice addition.

Overall it's an improved and overpriced (even with 50% discount, but SE is aiming for the diehards anyway) version of the original, with a simple graphical update and some changes here and there.
Sadly SquareEnix treats the old games of Square so respectless and just wants to make easy cash with them.

The game is good (with a good bunch of bugs), but the company sucks. ATM you need to buy the reamstered version to get an official fix for the music, which is in this version pure midi sound.

Is this Castlevania? Probably not. But to be fair Lords of the Shadows wasn't Castlevania either. While LoS2 makes technically a lot of things better - like a very great presentation, it doesn't feel as epic as LoS. BUT if you like to play Darksiders, Devil may Cry, Bayonetta, etc., then is this game absolutely a great addition.
Buy it, when it is on sale (which isn't so often).
