作为一款在剧情和美术风格上彻底摆烂的卡牌游戏，能受到如此追捧，其游戏性和策略深度可见一斑。

这是一款小而精的ARPG游戏。制作组在画面、配音、优化等细节方面有着扎实的功底，远超独立制作游戏的平均水准。游戏流程较短，10+小时即可通关，剩下的部分依然是ARPG经典的无尽刷刷刷。游戏剧情是完全不存在的，基本上就是为了打而打。游戏提供三个可选职业，并不算丰富，且不够平衡。但即使如此，制作组依然很用心地为游戏做了全角色配音。游戏画面是非常独特的折纸艺术风格，与游戏的黑暗背景产生奇妙的反差萌。游戏机制方面采用了卡牌系统，但实际上是对于传统ARPG的装备+技能体系进行了融合与简化。虽然这算不上值得吹一波的创新，但相对于游戏的体量及风格来说显得非常协调。游戏正式版提供官中，且翻译质量相当精良，可以说制作组诚意满满。这款游戏适合介于纯休闲与真硬核之间的“普通玩家”群体，游戏很好地反映了制作组“回归游戏本源”（R2G，详见两个DLC的说明）的初衷。从这个角度讲Book of Demons无疑是一款极具代表性的作品。

The game is underrated as of this review primarily because poor server quality and game crash in early version. In my 20-hour game play (about 12 local and solo games), it did crash once, but this is acceptable. I haven't tried online games, but it seems disconnection persists according to other reviews. However, if you mainly play solo games or games against AI and/or other players on the same PC, I think this is a solid game. The game provides a systematic tutorial for new players saving a lot of time reading the rule book. The automatic calculation of resources and placement markers simplify gameplay, so I think most fans will love it. Basically, AI's strategy is maximizing short-term profits and often has myopia problem. So, once you build up economy early on and delay the end game, you are hard to lose. At this stage, the game includes everything in basic board game (draft variant in beta) but no any of the expansions. It's reasonable to believe those expansions will come out in future, but whether they will be free to play is unknown. Overall game quality is 7.5/10. I would recommend fans to buy this game, otherwise you may want to wait for discount and/or expansions.
