Early Access Review
My friends broke my knees with shovels and left me to be eaten by blind dinosaurs.

10/10 would get fired again.

This is, without a doubt, the best FMV game I've ever played. It tops most games in general, really.
I don't think it's very often that a game sticks with me like this one has, especially this long after finishing the game. It is so delicate and complex that it’s difficult to figure out how the game even works, I spent about 20 hours overall to complete the game and got the end credits about 4 or 5 hours in....but even with reaching the end so early, I'd missed so much that it wasn't really an ending at all for me. It fueled me, it made me obsessed with figuring out just what the ♥♥♥♥ was happening in this story.
Every single playthrough will be different for each person that plays it, which alone is a feat to accomplish. I have so much appreciation for all of the actors, the writers, and the creator - I feel like they really brought Marissa Marcel (and the cast overall) to life, with the question of what happened to Marissa being the center of an alluring and seductive mystery – and you, having access to a full archive of clips, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage from her short-lived career must find the answer.
But it is in the way that you experience this footage – recreating the three films piece by piece through following your intuition, noticing something in an actor’s face or an off-camera comment, diving down rabbit holes and discovering that they are deep and branching – that the true story of Immortality is told. It is an elegant, complicated mystery that you decipher for yourself, scrubbing through these clips while searching for clues. You reach a turning point after an hour, maybe two, where you’ll be watching a scene and think, wait – did I just see what I thought I saw? You’ll rewind it back, watch again, follow the thread, and an extraordinary mystery starts to reveal itself at the core.

I'm gonna start by saying that I REALLY enjoyed the game - the story, the lore, the characters, it's a lot of fun and the characters feel more fleshed out than they did in Until Dawn. It's a good spooky story.

However, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to ANYONE in the state it is currently in. Shame on you, Valve, for hiding the fact that the game requires the 2K games launcher (it's not the first time you've done this and I can't believe you keep getting away with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥), and shame on you for releasing such a buggy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. It's literally unbearable - at the beginning of every single scene transition there is about 30 seconds of lag that distorts the audio as well as skips fragments of the scene, sometimes we get to listen to the same line of vocal dialogue three times in a row! I spent so much time thinking there was something wrong on my end, trying to adjust my graphics/make sure all my drivers were updated/etc. only to read tons of threads of everyone on Steam having the same problem.

You are so much better off just buying this on console.

Update: Hey, it looks like they fixed most of the issues I was having with the game. It took a few months but it is actually playable now! GG

I remember being like 6 years old and watching my dad play this game with a joystick in our living room, begging him to let me see the boss fight again where you tear the alien's head off and use it's neck as a toilet.

10/10 for both nostalgia and finally being old enough to play without my dads help

I played the mod for Skyrim years ago and had a great time, so I've been eager to check out this standalone game. There are similarities between the two; The Golden Rule being the biggest, but otherwise it's a completely new and refreshing idea. I was pleasantly surprised by the multiple endings and how much work you have to put into this Groundhog's Day style narrative to really get to the bottom of what is going on.
