I played Sven Co-op before it became standalone game, since version 3.5. I enjoyed opposing force weapons and monsters, some maps were cool, but the co-op component felt like it's missing the point of true cooperative.
With infinite respawns you did not need to bother about yourself and teammates health. Anyway some maps were almost impossible to finish without dying, because monsters were so tough and some events leading to instant player's death are unpredictable.
But version 5 introduced survival mode. Now when you die, you can't repsawn by yourself. Only your teammates can help you. Using medkits got reasonable sense at last to not let your teammates down. Life has a value now. Ammo don't respawn, so saving ammo is important too.
Difficulty also was adjusted to be more balanced.
The real shame that by default only Half-Life campaign is played in survival mode. There were some servers with other maps adjusted for survival (now these servers seem to be down :( ), and it was great time. I hope level designers and community will move more toward to this survival experience.

Good mod. Well made and has very nice graphics for game on goldsource engine.
Glad to see people still make mods for Half-Life and even publish on Steam. Special thank for Linux version!

Kairo game has really poor level design. It's not minimalism or something. It's just ugly. Levels have all common mapper's mistakes like bad lights and incorrectly aligned textures. Although I saw it from video and screenshots, I still hoped that Kairo has interesting puzzles and enthralling atmosphere, but it does not. Puzzles are just random or inane and your character's physics make their solving even worse. Player movements are slow and clunky.
It looks like first project of author and the main problem is that the game is sold for money. Seriously, I would forgive the most flaws if game was free. Most, but still not all. I played many free games/mods/mappacks created by enthusiasts that have much better level design, atmosphere, storyline, puzzles, etc. And all they look like authors actually endeavored to make their creations better. I can't say same about Kairo.
If you still bought this game, don't forget to change settings: remove this waste "grained effect" and unacceptable "look smoothing". Also don't forget to increase FOV (Field Of View), it seems like author does not know that many players feel sickness and headache because of small FOV.
