This game can be fun... emphasis on can. Most of the time you are getting verbally raped, and the other amout of time... literally. This isn't to say I'm terrible at the game, it's not that type of situation. It's more the fact that this game is just flat out broken. You will be around the corner of your building, and be hit by the bullets that were shot at you 5 seconds ago... You will have people who are sniping you with a full auto UMP, and never miss a shot... This game is far from stable in almost every aspect. Like I said to begin with, this game can be really fun. I do enjoy playing it with my friends (Squads is an absolute ♥♥♥♥ fest but Duos is ok). The Devs keep adding new things and fixing small problems... but seem to not address the massive issues that almost eveyone I know have with their game. From what I can tell... this game is nothing more then a money grab. Look at the BS they are pulling with Fortnite... you really think they are trying to be an upstanding company with actions like that? If it weren't for me spending money on this game, I wouldn't play it. If I could get my money back, and never be able to play this game again... it wouldn't be a hard decision. Thi game needs a huge amount of work... and I just don't see it getting that. Go play a better game... there's far better things you can waste money on then this. The only good thing about this game, is if you can get enough points to buy crates, you can sell them. Don't bother opening them hoping for a cool piece of gear. you will get the same damn grey shirt everytime. I just sell the crates and then use the proceeds to buy other games or ♥♥♥♥ in CSGO. This game is bad, but if you do buy it, just use it to make money and please, don't give these terrible devs anymore of your money.

New problem as of 10/26/17... We updated our game!
(I go and do the update)
"Clicks Start"
Waits*
Sees loading bar*
"Your game is version x.x.41. Please exit the game and update to version x.x.39 to play."
.... wait what? Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me? It's now asking that I downgrade to play the damn game... You stupid ♥♥♥♥♥ can't even update your game correctly? Geez.

2/19/19
So, tons of new things and updates but has the original problems been fixed? They have to be right? Several years of full release means they got their ♥♥♥♥ together and fix stuff of course.... no.... no they haven't.... STOP BUYING THIS POS GAME AND PAYING FOR THEIR DAMN SKINS! Geez people. This game isn't good and there's no arguing that it is. The devs just want money and honestly... I think they might just be worse then companies like EA and Paradox when it comes to ways of getting money. They are never going to fix their problems, they will just keep adding more.
If you absolutely love hackers then play this game cause that's what you're going to be put against. If you love hacking in games, then do it here cause they wont stop you no matter the pile of evidence against you. Prime example of a company that shouldn't be allowed to make games right here...

Years ago when NMS was getting review slammed for poor performance and just stupid people being stupid, I was in full support of the game. I thought it was so much fun back then. The graphics were great, and still are. The controls were surely clunky, and still are, but it was manageable and no worse than most other games. That one thing has since changed. Do you like being forced to walk out of line with where your camera is? Yes? Then this is the game for you. If you really hate when games do that like I do... avoid this. Let me try and explain what I am talking about here. Say you need to walk 50 feet in a straight line. Everyone who has ever played a game on PC knows you press W to walk forward (or the arrow key if you're old enough) and you will get there in no time at walking speed. NMS has turned that on it's head, and not in a good way. If you hit a slight grade on your path to the 50 foot mark, your character will just start walking at an angle away from your camera. I literally just had my character almost turning a full 180 without touching anything but W. This didn't used to be a "feature" in old NMS and I have absolutely no clue why it is now. It makes walking ANYWHERE planet side either an extreme chore, or just pure hell. I can't take it. I wanted to give it a go and just try to find ways around it, and I did, but it's too much for me to just deal with since the game isn't that fun in the first place anymore. My solution was turning my camera about 45 degrees from my objective (the 50 foot marker in front of me for example) and then I walked with W and D so I was half strafing. THEN, and only then, I could walk a straight line perfectly... you know, just at a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ angle. The new changes to the tutorial are painful to say the lest as well. I really hate the new system for digging through the ground. "Go find some copper!" Gives you no idea what underground deposit of ore is copper since they are all just generically labeled "Underground deposit".

On the topic of controlling your character... who in the unholy hell made that flight control system? It's painfully obvious ALL of this game was designed with a controller in mind and ♥♥♥♥ all to the mouse and keyboard. You have the absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "Tether" flight control where you basically pull the ship around with a rope and the longer it is the faster the ship turns but you have to take it back to the zero point to stop turning. Then you have the locked controls where the ship with pivot like a character FOV camera with the mouse. I, in the past, couldn't use the tether to save my life (nothings changed except it feels even harder to do now) so I always used the locked mode. They have done something to that too now so it's almost worse than the tether. When you stop moving your mouse, you might expect the ship to stop turning. Not on a dime, no, but it should stop rather fast I think. Nah, it doesn't do that at all. You will just drift in a roll until you are facing about 90-180 degrees away from where you stopped moving the mouse. So you say, just counter the steering by going back a little. Thought of that one myself as well... doesn't work because you still get the massive drift just back in the other direction. Flying has never been good in NMS, and it's so much worse now, years later. One last thing on the topic of FOV... does anyone know of ANY game that starts your character first person FOV at 75 degrees? Holy hell that hurts to look at. Then you can only expand it to 100 degrees... I guess I will just ignore my peripheral vision... The 100 degrees doesn't feel like the 100 degrees starting at your nose either, but that you have a 100 degree slice for total view so 50 degrees for each side of you head. I really don't remember having this issue at all years ago and don't know if it's just me now or something that has changed.

There's so many new systems and they are all just thrown at you with terrible explanations. Not to mention basic controls are locked behind unmentioned keys/combos. Take for instance, perspective changing. You have to know that the x button give you a unique menu with controls not found anywhere else, and then have to know to go to a specific menu in that menu, just to swap to first person view (or third). That is just stupid design and isn't even mentioned. I reinstalled this because I saw the updates coming in and making the game actually have some meat to it, but god there's so much that's been added that just makes it worse. Don't bother with this game. Buy something like Space Engineers and just mod the hell out of it. At least flying a ship makes sense there...

It's really a shame that I can't stomach the controls of this game anymore because I love the idea of exploring, mining, and scanning the planets and their fauna, flora, and minerals for money. I always wanted to make enough money to buy one of the super cool ships, but never could get there thanks to how hard it used to be to make money. Now it's seemingly easier, but I can't stand the changes to controlling. If you really don't care about terrible camera controls, terrible character tracking/controlling, and a thousand things being thrown at you all at once with hidden controls, then buy NMS and go buy that cool ship for me. And no, my issues don't stem from being lazy and not wanting to learn the thousand things thrown at me... you ever heard of the Angel's and Bob's mod combos in Factorio? Or how about the Seablocks mod pack... yeah, I can handle this type of situation just fine and love figuring out all the intricate things when they are adequately displayed and accessible. NMS doesn't understand that last part at all.

This game is fantastic. From setting up a plan to assault the mun to building your rocket and then finally launching it. Feeling like a badass the whole way up. Suddenly your rocket is engulfed in flames.... NICE. Despite all odds, you make it into space and then into orbit. Beginning to feel cocky, you decide to go at the mun for real. You manage to get into orbit of the mun and things are looking good. You start your decent and its looking good..... then you realize..... I dont have enough fuel.... and then you get to watch your rocket that you spent so much time on, felt SO great about, and just knew it would work.... smash into the mun and exploded in a massive cloud of fire and dust. If you like crashing things, again, and again, and... yes... again. Until finally having success many tries later, then this is your game. You cant play it for 30 minutes and decide its crap. When I first got this game I didnt think it was all that great. But I just kept going and learned what I needed to do. After a few hours of learning, I cant stop playing. Its funny as hell crashing your rockets, and even greater getting them to land. So dont pass this game up as just some crappy North Korea Rocket Simulator (As I have witnessed many people call it). It REALLY is good and definitely worth the money. Give it a try.... you wont be sorry... sad when you crash... but not sorry.

Everyone freaking out about the data collection... let me ask you something... do you use Facebook? Yes? Then stfu! When I go onto a website and Facebook suddenly has an add for something I was just looking at its obvious they are getting info from me as well and giving it to others. EVERY COMPANY DOES THIS SO GTFO THIS ONE! God people are whiny babies.
