Update: Still my favorite game of the year (although BG3 is a very close second), which is why I have nominated Romancelvania for Game of the Year!

This game has aged like fine milk...

You just know you're playing a masterpiece when there is an in-game item called "B!tch Manual" XD

I'm a big Scooby-Doo fan, so this game is right up my alley and I just LOVE Scout so much! ^_^

This game really deserves more attention and, hopefully, a sequel!

Well, I'm glad to get the opportunity to play as my favorite season ⁠— Spring, but the game desperately NEEDS to polish its text as the dialogue is somewhat incomprehensible due to bad translation.

The fighting is okay, but leans too heavily on the juggling mechanic (to the point where characters can clip through the ceiling of some stages).

That said, I like the character designs and would like to understand the story better.

Super early access, but there is potential!

A wholesome tale about a shy girl who feels like a fish out of water in a male-only college and gets a helping hand from a friendly classmate who forces our heroine to come out of her shell and find her true calling in life.

Great characters, stunning visuals, and impeccable voice acting await you in Life and Sex in Men's Сollege — a perfect Christmas experience for the whole family! ^_^

There are literally only four or five choices in the whole game and they have negligeable effect on the story and seem to be added out of obligation rather than genuine intent to let the reader's decisions have any actual impact.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not a fan of kinetic novels that pretend to be more interactive that they actually are.

A graphically-superior, yet shallow-er clone of Stardew Valley.

Over the past two months, I have played four different farming sims. It all started with Disney's Dreamlight Valley, which then revived my interest in Stardew Valley (which I haven't played since 2019) and I played that game for a while. Then, Wylde Flowers came out and I absolutely fell in love with that game!

Lastly, I played Coral Island — it is the weakest of the four by far.

The main issue with Coral Island is its reluctance to be its own thing. All of the other games I mentioned do heavily borrow ideas from Stardew Valley, but manage to add something original to the formula, giving it a unique spin. Coral Island, on the other hand, is just a graphically-updated version of Stardew Valley and feels more like a themed mod of it (like, hey, here's Stardew Valley but in Southeast Asia!). It copypastes many of the same things that I find annoying about SV (like the fact that you can only save the game by sleeping, for instance). Instead of trying to improve on the formula Stardew Valley has established, Coral Island just copies its homework without trying to fix any of its problems or use any creativity beyond the different geographical setting.

Also, the most recent update to the game wiped out my save file (and I'm not the only one who encountered that issue). I've never had this happen to me before despite playing many different early access titles, so this, to me, showcases that the developers bit off more than the can chew and released their game to the public way too early, especially considering how limited the game is at its current state.

A good short dating game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Cute girls, interesting premise, and an ample amount of dialogue choices await you in "Seven Deadly Dates"! ^_^

The only downside is that I wish the game had more CGs, especially when it comes to certain endings (like the harem one :3)

And despite of what some other folks may say, Ailysh is actually the best girl. I have spoken.

I certainly recommend this game; it's got a beautiful art style, great voice acting, and lovable characters! What else do you need?

Well.. there is one major caveat — its story. Admittedly, I haven't finished the game yet, so take this part of the review with a grain of salt, but, the way the main story is presented at first, it literally makes no sense at all.

Here's what I mean: so you got these two fox spirits who have been assigned to the MC by some powerful supernatural force. The two spirits are a Goddess of Fertility and a Goddess of Infertility.

Are you still with me? It gets better!

So the Goddess of Fertility, Aina, wants to have sex with the MC in order to continue the age of fertility for the next 300 years. (sounds pretty good, right?) On the other hand, the Goddess of Infertility, Fumo, is supposed to keep the MC from doing that, but she isn't very enthusiastic about her task and she has never succeeded in keeping anyone from having sex with Aina for a whole year before, so she doesn't know what would happen if she succeeds, but keep in mind that both her and the MC presume that if she were to win, an age of infertility would follow for 300 years. (sounds pretty bad, no?)

Now, I know all of this is pretty complicated (and what does that have to do with being an English teacher in Japan, anyway?) but the reason why I need to explain all of this to you is that the protagonist's actions make absolutely no sense. Literally zero. Absolute nada. Zilch.

Think about it, why wouldn't the MC just have sex with Aina? Aside from her being an attractive fox goddess who basically throws herself at him, the fate of the whole world literally depends on it AND if he doesn't do it, he will be followed by the two fox spirits for the whole year everywhere he goes. Knowing all this, it just doesn't make any sense for the protagonist to not just slam that vulpine cooch ASAP. If not for himself, than for the rest of the world, at least.

I think a better way to go about this story would have been to reverse the conditions. Say that if the MC were to have sex with Aina, THEN the age of infertility would follow, thus the MC would have a reason to reject her, while also adding stakes about him having to do that for a whole year.

Anyway, apologies for the rant; I just really don't get the premise of this story. I'm sure things will be better explained later in the game, but as it stands right now, the MC just comes off as being either really stupid or really selfish, or both.
