This game is extremely polished, but ultimately soulless.
It is the best the "sexy puzzle games" genre that has been plaguing Steam for a while has to offer and that's not saying much.
The characters just don't have any personalities really. They may have different hair colors and clothes but their personality doesn't go beyond "horny af".
Is this what the modern dating is like? God, that's depressing...

The game looks nice, but it's frustration itself in disguise.
Never got a single crown, and it makes me want to drown.

True love is about personality, not appearance. This game acknowledges and celebrates that, taking this idea to its logical conclusion.

I chose Blue because I felt attracted to their personality the most (despite our polar opposite views on cats and dogs). Their appearance turned out to be lovely as well when it was revealed, so it was a nice bonus. (And for those who expected me to pick Pink, don't box me in like that!)

That said, the game is a little bit rough around the edges and needs some improvement. I would also like there to be more questions you can ask the colors and perhaps more extensive dating scenes. It could also be nice to have even more colors added in the future with their own unique personalities.

Other than that, I enjoyed this game a lot! ^_^

The best thing I can say about this game is that it is very polished. The graphics, the interface and the overall aesthetic are crisp and smooth. Sadly, all that effort is wasted on this game.

As an Overwatch clone, it picked the most overrated character in the game, Tracer, as its protagonist, and I have no earthly idea why. That game has plenty of far more interesting and likable characters to choose from.

There is nothing more dangerous for an artist than to become overly confident in the idea that whatever they create is a masterpiece. I loved the first game; it had a simple, but engaging story, amazing soundtrack, enjoyable art-style and some interesting side-quests and characters. The sequel has one of those things; the soundtrack is really good. As for anything else, well...

The story is just not interesting at all. A game about a book being plagiarized? Who cares? It sounds like a plot for a mediocre movie, not a video game, and I say it as an amateur writer myself; this story should appeal to me more than to most, yet it doesn't.

The art style in this game is just plain ugly. The character art looks good, though I prefer the one in the first game, but everything else just looks grimy and unpleasant to look at. Whether it was intentional or not, it doesn't add anything to the game and just makes it look like some cheap horror game.

I can't say whether there are any decent side quests since I couldn't bring myself to play any longer than a couple of hours. I've never liked overly-realistic mechanics like eating and sleeping in video games, but SAM takes it to the next level, forcing you to worry about laundry, hygiene and even defecation, seemingly without any reason at all.

Overall, this game should never have been a sequel to Always Sometimes Monsters since it has very little in common with it. Perhaps if it was a stand-alone game people wouldn't have had such high expectations for it and it wouldn't have been such a disappointment. As it is, I cannot recommend it to anyone.

I wouldn't have bothered reviewing this if not for the fact that this game is currently the top rated dating sim on Steam, which is something I find a personal offense with.

While it does have a decent art style and voice acting, it lacks any substance. The story is boring and insufferably long, the characters are unappealing and cliched, and though the game does have choices, you'd be lucky to get a chance to choose something more than once an hour.

All in all, Sabbat of the Witch is nothing more than a well-polished turd.

I suggest playing pretty much any other dating sim on Steam instead of this.

I wish there was a "Not Sure" button, because this game is really a mixed bag, but I overall recommend it because:

1. Rei is bae.
2. You can pick your character's gender, which is a feature more date sims should have.
3. The story is intriguing for the most part.
4. Mahou Shoujos
5. There are elements of exploration, crafting and time management as well as some RPG elements.

That said, there are areas in which this game could've been significantly better, such as:

1. The art style aside from CGs is somewhat odd and lackluster.
2. It's as much of a horror game as it is a dating simulator, which means be prepared to see blood as often as cute anime girls, usually both at the same time.
3. Therefore, there aren't many cute or sexy CGs, so if you're here for them, don't bother.
4. A disappointing ending.

Overall, I enjoyed the game for the most part, but was left extremely disappointed by the ending, which I will elaborate on in the spoiler section.

If this game caught your interest, I recommend checking out Sable's Grimoire - a game with a similar mix of a high school setting with fantasy elements, with more focus on the dating part and much less horror.

I've never liked the whole "it was all a dream" type of ending, and this game basically has one of those.

I'm not completely against the idea of simulation being the cause of it, but I do believe that the story would've been more interesting if they'd stuck with the magical girl theme. I was really looking forward to the MC's transformation, hoping it would be the answer to the mystery or be used as a secret weapon of sorts, but that never happened despite it being teased through the whole game.

I'm willing to bet that the idea of turning this world into a simulation was not the initial concept and happened somewhere during production, possibly inspired by the infamous Doki Doki Library and its twist. Although, I would say that this game is better since it doesn't completely abandon the the dating sim aspect of it like Doki Doki does.

Geez, the rapey vibes in this game are just insane.

I get that some people are into virgin girls, but you didn't have to make ALL of the characters virgins, you know?
