7/10 A good game.

The game has some performance issues. Most being massive random frame drops here and there. But I have experienced no Game breaking bugs, glitches, crashes, or freezes. With how many major games release with countless bugs this is a welcome change. However, like every game Hogwarts Legacy has it's flaws.

PROS

[Brings the Harry Potter Universe Alive]
As a fan of Harry Potter this game is amazing getting to go all over the school and outside of it. There are so many places to explore and little activities to find. You can really see the detail that was put into making this world feel like it came straight out of the books/movies.

[Combat]
Combat is Hogwarts Legacy is pretty fun to do. You have a number of spells to use on your enemies and skills that make them even more effective. However while combat is fun, it does get a little stale after hours of doing it and for another reason I will have in cons.

CONS

[School Life]
If you are hoping to feel like a student at Hogwarts, I am sad to say this is not it. You are a student sure, and you will have some classes, but you are going to spend most of your time running around doing pretty basic tasks and quests most of the time. You don’t really interact to often with students besides the few followers in the game. Really annoyed me that I could not sit down in the great hall with the other students.

[Enemies]
Traveling outside of school you will encounter enemies. This is another con for me because it feels like you will mostly fight dark wizards/poachers, goblins, and spiders. There are a few other enemies to be sure, but they could have added much more variety in the enemies or at least made them more interesting. The bad guys are your typical rough speaking, "We are going to kill you because we are evil" guys. Not much to them.

[Character won’t shut the hell up]
This is a personal annoyance for me. But every time I go to Hogsmeade my character will say something along the line. "Seems all roads lead to Hogsmeade. Is there anywhere as cozy as Hogsmeade?" Yes, I get it, You like it here. Stop telling me that every time I walk into the damn town. Your character will also do this with caves and whatnot regardless of if you explored them or not. Your character is going to repeat themselves a lot.

[Bland animations]
Now a lot of the animations in cut scenes are great. I am talking about the speaking to NPC's that you will see often. The characters are pretty stiff and as soon as their dialog runs out their faces go to expressionless. It is not to bad, but adding more expressions in face and body language would have made the interactions feel more alive.

[Choices]
To me a true RPG is not about skill trees, outfits, or even being able to customize your character. It is about making choices and the world changing and reacting to them. Hogwarts Legacy does have choices, and you may even here others talking about them. But it mostly comes down to. Say something nice or mean. There is not to much here without a morality system. This could have also really made the unforgivable spells feel unforgivable. I get they want to keep it player friendly, but it would have felt so much more impactful if you had to hide your abilities otherwise word would get around and people will react differently to you.

CONCLUSION

Overall Hogwarts Legacy is a fun game to play especially if you love the Harry Potter universe like I do. The game is defiantly an impressive feat and I do think it is worth buying to show other game companies that there are a lot of players who want games like this one.

After playing Lovely Overseer and trying out a few other paths and exploring different endings and outcomes, I have to say the game is a solid 8/10.

The game offers a lot of what I am looking for in games like this. An interesting cast of characters, choices, and multiple routs. The world we are placed in is engaging and I wanted to learn more about it. My first playthrough I just tried to interact with as many scenes as I could. I reached the ending of the game soon, and in my first playthrough I was on the Lucy route which I enjoyed, but at the end I got a bad ending for her. This confused me a bit because everything seems to be going so well, but the character suddenly does a 180 from loving me to cold shoulder. I now understand it is because I did not max out the skill she likes. Playing the route again I focused on that skill and her affection to get the good ending. I do not mind this system, though I do think it should be a bit more forgiving for those who want to just play around. For the bad ending rejections, they feel abrupt, especially Lucy’s. I would tone them down a bit to make them feel more realistic and not just a, oh I never cared for you despite everything that happen throughout the whole game. Make the rejections more heartfelt and they be fine.

There are a few more features I think the game should have had, for one, the character you are playing you cannot name. It is not a big deal, I just think it be nice to add to it. There is no scene gallery in the main menu, again not a big deal since you have multiple loads, but still, it be a welcome feature since a lot of others VN’s offer it. And lastly, I like it if there were more events to do around the school. Our character is the lieutenant so having him deal with issues like, guards mistreating the students, students acting out, just random events in the school that make us feel like we have more of a responsibility here, and the choices we make during these events can influence the romance options. I also like to see more Kira, I know there is an ending for her, but I love to see more.

However, despite the suggestions I have, and the few odd things I found, I feel this is a solid VN game, one worth supporting. If you are looking to buy it, I recommend it. there is a lot of effort put in by this game’s developer and it is well worth the money.

Subverse is a game I have been looking forward to for some time, and now that I have played it, and completed what I believe there is of the game so far, I have to say this is worth the money. However, there are some pros and cons to the game.
Pros
• Fun and compelling story.
• Memorable and interesting characters that are all fully voiced.
• Easy to understand game mechanics and game play.
• And of course, the NSFW content is well made.
• Polished, I experienced no bugs in the game so far.
Cons
• Combat can be repetitive at times.
• A lack of choices. You may speak to your crew members to learn more about them, but I would like to see more critical choices and decisions made by the player which affects the outcome of the story, and of how the crew and others in the universe see you.

If you are looking to buy this game, I would recommend it, there is clearly a lot of work put into this game, and it has the potential to become a real gem in the Adult game genre. Definitely a game worth supporting.

I would give it a solid 6/10 so far. the reason I give it that is because it has a few bugs and errors in it, but the creator is working on them and listening and getting involved in the community, so I give it hope on that. The game also is kind of difficult to follow. Half the time I don’t know what to do. there is no real clear path or even paths. I don’t like games that hold your hand but this needs some direction in it. Not sure if it is because of the bugs and lags of it that cause this problem, but it needs to be fixed. Next the voice acting. it does have voice acting from time to time in the cut scenes and other times it’s just reading. The voice acting, I give a 6/10 also. some of the voices are good but the quality of the recording sounds a little off, and they don’t have enough emotion in their voices such as a game like hunipop had. also, your character Wilson has probably one of the most generic voices I have ever heard with not much emotion behind his voice, I am not sure if the creator wanted the main character to act that way, but it does kill the mood for me. I personally think that the best way to make a protagonist in a game like this is to keep them voiceless, so you can imagine what they sound like when you make your choices in the conversations. The dialog is not very good, and it needs to be tweaked, half the time they seem to go off topic and into a random direction. In the game you have a phone but as far as I know there is no way to use it which is a shame because I would like to use it to get in contact with the girls, so you can hang out with them on dates instead of just wondering around town unsure what to do. I don’t know if it is an option because the game offers no control settings or a list of controls. Again, something they need to give is to make a guide to show us a path and let us make it. there is nothing wrong with showing us a path and letting us decide where it goes but no path just throwing you out with nothing not even a help guide is sort of dumb. You also have interactions with the NPCs around town but it’s the same dialog every time. I can’t tell you how many people told me the mall had new owners. Also, the girls you can date also walk around and you can talk to them, but it goes like this. Hey. Hi. What’s up? We are at the cafe. then it ends, and they walk off. Wtf? The game has a lot of positional don’t get me wrong and it’s a cool art style he is using through it needs to be tweaked to work properly and not crash and lag. Also, the point and click needs to be fixed because half the time I click on the wrong thing. For save files the game offers you four save files when you hit new game like a telltale game, but each file only has One save file meaning you have to dragon's dogma it the whole time and if you save in a bad spot well. you done ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up. I am not saying the game is bad, but it needs to be fixed before I can really recommend it at its price, even with the small discount. It’s the first day it came out, so I expect problems and bugs. But with it being delayed weeks to have fixes well... it’s hard to defend it. I am not sure how much the game has to offer yet with how often I am lost and unsure what to do. I will give it this through, the game does offer choices and its in a rare style we do not see very often, and the creator of the game seems to have a passion for it and I do believe that with our feedback he can make the game a real Gem. For now, if you are unsure weather to get this game or not, I would hold off until the bugs are fixed before getting it, hopefully it won’t be a long way off. As much as I don't want to give it a thumbs down, in its current state as of now I cant recommend it. When the game is patched and I am sure it will be, I will change my score if the problems are resolved.
