This game makes blade and sorcery look like jesus. the combat is miles behind B&S with constant clipping through each other's weapons when trying to clash and continuous swings that do not register. Or when you deliver a powerful blow at the correct angle to dismember someone but it simply results in a short stagger while on the other hand a poor swing at the wrong angle will result in their limbs popping off.

Its a shame, the game looks interesting with its progression system but the combat is so terrible compared to B&S. Maybe in the future this will get fixed. Can not recommend right now, if you have an itch for medieval combat go check out Blade and Sorcery.

Early Access Review
Got the full mobile game experience.

I thought it was a bit odd when the first weapons took 30 seconds to craft but whatever. Fast forward a few hours and its taking 20+ minutes to craft an item, over an hour and a half to craft the bricks to make my stone castle (you dont get a roof until then and have to light a brazier) and then the icing on the cake, after I did random ♥♥♥♥ and hunted bosses for hours before upgrading the base to get new mechanics for it. I finally unlock the minion mechanic where you can turn humans to servants to fight for you. I pick one and bring him back to his servant coffin, and a whopping hour and a half of real life time is when I'm told to come back.

I'm just a little lost here. Normally when a game has timers like that it so happens to be on my phone and offers to speed it up for my credit card. But this isn't a mobile game and there isn't any in game currency or any way for the game devs to milk the crafting times. So they just decided to make everything post ~4 hours of gameplay take anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours to craft as a ♥♥♥♥ you to their players.

Then it hit me. The combat wasn't particuarly impressive in this game, I was more or less just enjoying it for the vampire mechanics of hunting and sunlight interaction at first. Graphics had nice touches to them too. But the reason for wasting so much time on crafting is so you can't refund the game after you fight more than three bosses and realize just how basic and hollow the game play actually is. After you realize that there isn't anything else to do but hunt the same generic bosses with your same 3 weapons and "variety" of spells which is just recolors of the same 3 attacks with the occasional shield or buff thrown in there. Or go hit different colored rocks to get a weapon with more stats so you can increase your gear score to fight the same enemies.

It's like when designing this game they put so much love into the first two hours of gameplay and the starting areas then completely forgot to finish the game and just slapped high numbers on the same enemies for the rest of the game with nothing changing.

*edit* forgot to add that past a certain point upgrading your gear any further becomes heavily rng related for getting blueprints etc. and servant quality depends on their blood % so you spend gross amounts of time looping areas looking for that 80-100% servant...

Stay far away from this glorified mobile game. All of the positive reviews convinced me to buy it. That was a mistake. What was during the first few hours a light enjoyable grind quickly turned into something that either expects you to have a zerg clan of 15+ players on at all times or spend days just to upgrade your gear score by 5 points.
