Playing through this little mini scenes really makings me hope we could get a full length point and click from the H*R team. I know there's SBCG4AP, and that's a great run, but these were able to nail the Point and Click style from the LucasArts days, and I would pay full price if they ever made a full length questing game from the H*R universe. For what this game is though, it's fun, charming, and now i can't stop saying Grabusey

So, 1.4k hours of gameplay, so i can say that this game, for me atleast, I don't regret the time i put into it. Overall it's pretty enjoyable for a darker version of hide and seek. There's a good selection of maps, a variety of characters, some even from known franchises such as Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger or even the Demogorgon. Every killer has their own flavor of play ranging from Setting bear traps, to dashing with a chainsaw, vomiting to make survivors sick, etc. However, with the praising done, lets talk why i don't recommend it.

UPDATE: Yea, my opinion just went lower for this game and BHVR as a whole. sneaking in NFTs and boasting about how they worked so hard on them. As well as moving over to Epic for some reason or another, I don't feel comofotable giving this game any more of my money, and eventually my time. Used to be fun. used to feel like the devs cared about the players. but now, it's all about cosmetics money and luring in new players with known IPs. Don't buy this game, don't get stuck in a stockholm syndrome loop of playing it. And don't support BHVR with how they're handling things.

For one, there's, a looooot of microtransactions. a lot of cosmetic options for both sides, and some where they are Linked, meaning you cannot swap out pieces for others in your collection, you can only wear the set. Wouldn't be so bad, IF IT WASNT 3/4 THE PRICE OF THE GAME. FOR ONE OUTFIT. The DLC usually goes around 10-15$ as well, but that makes sense being a new killer and survivor, however those you can buy with the games 2nd earnable currency, if you devote a looooot of time. And for some cosmetics, you can use that same currency on....while others are only bought with money...for some reason. Plus the Irony for the cosmetics, is on killers. For killers, there's all that info on them as well, however, you play in 1st person. Meaning, the only cosmetic you'll usually only see, is the weapon. So they want you to pay 15$ for some killer skins, just to only have it be a show for the survivors...who are usually too busy running or distracting/dodging the killer where, they're not gonna notice. Within my time, i haven't seen anyone go "oh cool you have that skin!" or "whooooa, nice skin" because, no one really cares in the long run, except yourself in which i'd say, don't spend that much on cosmetics, especially for killer.

Speaking of the community....that's strike number 2. The community in the game, is heavy on the toxic side. Now i'm not refering to people who will flicker their flashlights for attention, or make alot of noise to attract killers, or killers who will even camp. While not the most respected strategies, that's just all they are. I'm talking more about how the game's community, is always on attack. Always questioning what main you are, just to start bashing on you for being on that side, as if unaware you can do both. Until recently with the addition of the chat censoring at the end of the game, a loooooooooooooot of uhh, Xbox talk shall we say, went around. Even then, the censor doesn't seem to have certain words added that reaaaaaally should be from a company that claims to be all for the LGBT community. Mix that with certain specific names who thrive from being toxic where they'll be removed for a short time, only to be allowed right back. And it's just at each others throat. Small changes can just result in a war against the members. Just small dumb questions like "how do you win" bring out outrage for some reason.

3rd problem, and this is a big one. BHVR, doesn't listen to feedback. They honestly don't listen to the community, and overall just...don't care. Best example, the Player Test Build server. With a PTB, you'd expect to see the devs listen to feedback and figure out the problems needed fixed before the release of the next chapter. HOWEVER, many times over, they'll just throw a small patch in between and fix, nothing, until months later when they finally change the things needed changing...in the way no one wanted. Many times, even from their own "Fog Whisperers" (basically their influencers) they'll be told how something just is not working, that they need to just give it more time to work on something instead of sticking to their New Chapter every 3 months rule. One that THEY HAVE SET. The best example, is their Twins chapter. That came out, extremely buggy, with over 100 new bugs mixed with what already existed. All for a killer which just got the overall player reaction of "....eh" This is easily the worst part of the game, that you'll just have to get used to. They'll focus on how things look before how things are balanced. You'll see 3 new cosmetic releases before you'll see a patch half the time. And just with the ignorance, and the now memeable quote from their dev "I think we've done a pretty good job so far" the game has multiple bugs with each new week, some that'll crash the game, get people stuck, or make a perk accidentally OP. Hell, it took a clip of one of the devs getting aggrivated by a chat member asking why there's no Colorblind support before they "suddenly" decided that was a good idea. Without even bringing up quite the timing theeeeey decided to do it.

Overall. Until they shape up and start listening, i wouldn't recommend this game. It's way too much of a gamble if they're gonna actually remove a exploitable bug within 3 months unless it damages their precious cosmetic market. For those still playing, STOP BUYING COSMETICS UNTIL THEY GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. If they're not gonna fix what needs fixing, help give them that push about how balance is better then appearance. Right now they're focusing on remaking the player models instead of fixing known problems.

If this game goes on a decent sale however, i'd recommend it. Pay the price you feel it's worth. The game itself, mechanically, is enjoyable. I wouldn't of dumped 1.4k hours if it wasn't. I love the horror styilings (spoiler, i'ts not a scary game), I love getting to play as my favorite horror icons, but if they're valuing 15$ skins in a 20$ game, i cannot support that choice.

I don't recommend this game...but am willing to change if things shape up, which i have heavy doubts about.

Only played episode one...and that was enough. This is the game that ended my telltale love. It seemed they used to be good at story telling with their choice games, first season of walking dead was great, wolf among us, again great...but then it slowly went downhill til we hit rock bottom here. ONLY to find out that this...of all games....GETS SEQUEL DLC. This is making git feel like this is when the greed took them too far. I remember seeing this and feeling "...gotta give it a chance." but now i feel i can't do that anymore for telltale games.

I remember when the love was still here with the point and click like Sam and Max, and i've had many agree with me amongst my friends that, this was the top of the mountain with telltale. The humor, the story, the characters, all creative and interesting and funny. And yes i know story is more serious with their games today...I don't see that in this game. This is sad to say, because i love the voice actors, they're well known and great to listen to, but the game itself is so...boring. Then it's reminded, ITS MINECRAFT. I never got into minecraft, but as far as i remember, it was better to make your own story...and this is a clear reason why. I'll skip episode 2 and beyond....and only hope Telltale returns to point and click one day.

Hello kiddies, time to open your sleep eyes and shut your mouth holes as we diverge into the wonderful lands(land? what makes lands over land?) of Battleblock Theater, so grab some popcorned or creamed peas while we look at this game.

The game starts off by showing it's strong humor, voiced by the hilarious Stamper, a great pleasure to see considering humor is becoming more and more difficult to pull off. But during the opening scene, you also so how much energy this whole game is going to express. The whole base of this game, is a platformer with some thinking in between. Always gotta consider where to go and when and how to get there when you do.

The main game is mainly, collect the gems in a level and escape. Pretty basic for rules, but in between you'll find and want to get more gems and the Golden Yarn or legend. And these gems and yarn can be used to buy the other big part about this game. The Prisoners.

There is, a large variety of prisoners, with more still coming via weekly additions. Varying from 5 shapes, pyramid, sphere, cylinder, cube, and special, there are many prisoners to unlock and play as. Along with all the prisoners, there's also the weapons you can get from the hush hush, wink wink, dealer kitties. Each weapon holding their own advantage randing from Acid Bubbles, Top Hats that stick to walls, and even a freeze ray, FREEZE RAY!

However, one down side you may notice is...the levels themselves seem basic even with all the stuff that can be put in them, so you'll probably wanna take breaks in between just to be used to all the block scenery you'll see repeatedly. There's also the issue with the small soundtrack, but all the songs defiently are catchy so it's ok to listen to on repeat, especially, the secret level theme (trust me, look it up and get ready to laugh).

But the biggest part of Battle Block, is the multiplayer. This game gets way better with 2 players, and even 4. With 2 players the levels change to accomidate the co-op so you'll have to think and act together...while also dying to each other all the same. And the Battle Multiplayer is easily my favorite part of the game. Plenty of modes to engage in from Death Match, Paint the Blocks, Bank the gold and more. This game is defiently meant for friendly (or unfriendly) play, but it's still pretty ok for the humerous story on single and co-op player.

Overall, this game may have some repitition with the music and stages, certain levels could be hard to 100% due to weird positioning of gems, but the multiplayer and the variety of characters, and the humor are what give this game a shiny gold sticker (good job! Too bad you don't get platinum, now eat your broccoli). I give it, 8/10

Early Access -arvostelu
Going in on a whim to get this game, didn't participate in the kickstarter, I only saw a few videos so I didn't know how it'd go. What I came into was annoying stress situations, downs and ups (if lucky) if your units overstress, constant status ailments, constantly needing to make sure your lights up, planning items to bring in without over or understocking, dealing with the constant positioning of the units, it is all a hard hassal where your units have a very high chance, of dying. Meaning all the progress and equips on them, will be lost the minute they die, no redos. It's all such a major progress for small progressing rewards........and I loved it.

All of this stress, this pressure, this thought you need to put into the game is what makes it great. It helps you strategize, who to bring with on an expidition, how they're going to cooperate with each other, making sure your supplies are exactly right, planning your funds and keeping stress underlined while going through gridded dungeons with turn based combat, it's all a fun adventure in a depressing setting. All the while, every action is directed by a brilliantly voiced narrator. A dark, graggly voice telling your story as if he's in control of it all. The music is brooding and quiet to fit the mood, and there's many units that can join your barracks ranging from healers, to paladins, to jesters, to valkyries (names may vary) all of which carry their own baggage. Each unit always holds their certain pros and cons, between phobias and dungeon experience. And there's even mild town building after each dungeon for every time you return, you'll more then likely bring relics with to help build up the town for your own better. Buildings to help increase a units skill, weapon, armor, lose a negative trait, lose stress (yes it carries over) it's all such a good variety, especially for early access.

It's really hard to find a negative, though I do find myself needing the usual break every now and then. If anything, and this is a big anything, your stress can go up really fast in the wrong setting, and this will put you in a big hole. but this is countered by the fact that sometimes....all that stress isn't bad, though it usually is. Another negative is that...sometimes the characters talk a little too much amongst each other, where it'll be a while before the turn continues, especially after a stress upset. It's nice seeing character interaction and all...but mid battle and each character giving stressed dialouge, it gets a lil tedious. And this game is not recommened for those who hate permadeth. All this said, it has me excited to how the game will update as it's built.

I'd defiently give this a 9/10, not perfect, but still great.

What show's this game's funness? The 100+ hours I have on it. Once you play Isaac, you're bound to get sucked in to the enjoyable addictiveness of trying to find every item and kill every boss.

This game has that addictive feel with no true reward to see besides burning things. I enjoy it and it can make for some interesting fireplace ambiance (christmas fans, forget the tv, get your little inferno). Plus...the theme song is enough to get stuck in your head worse then "it's a small world"
