"12/10. By far, the best option for 2D games and a good contender on 3D as well." According to My Own Ratings.

Disclaimer 1: The learning curve isn't steep, but it starts with a wall.
Disclaimer 2: The Steam registered process only launches the engine's editor and then gets terminated. So, the time it shows on my profile is pretty much the time I've spent choosing demo projects to load and study.

At first, things don't make sense at all. Especially if you're well adapted to other engines. And introductory level content is scarce. But then, once you learn the basics, it is the paragon of 2D game creation. Or at least better than anything you've worked with. In my case, the game changer was an Udemy course, by Guilherme Oliveira.

I've started working on projects using it and have no intention of even trying other engines for 2D games again. That means letting my paid licenses expire.

The game engine and the editor are an easy 10/10 even after deducting points for being unable to set the .exe file's icon without external tools. Then, they get an extra 10% for being a decade advanced in comparison to the other engines and some more for using that license despite being the best in slot. I've actually started posting my study projects so people can see what an overgeared noob game developer can do. I'm rounding it to 12/10 and claiming it is, by far, the best option for 2D games and a good contender on 3D as well..
