My friend or myself won't load in during private matches. Doesn't matter who hosts, one of us two can't properly join. Hoping that the dev will look into this, and if solved, would change review.

I used to speedrun the original Spelunky. This one has made that much much more difficult, but is more satisfying to play so far. It feels just as crisp and still has the platforming tricks I grew to love. It rewards patience and thought more than the first one did, and has a lot more content.

After owning the game for years, I gotta say it's great, beats Minecraft any day. Plenty of mods to make the game last longer. Dev team updates the game yet it stays at the same price (though their updates are few and far between). Better with friends (if you can trust them). After every boss is beaten, there's not much to do unless you fall in love with the building mechanics or are creative enough to make unique buildings. That's probably the only place Minecraft beats this is in the building, but that should be expected in a 2D side-scroller game. The next update should be the last official one from the devs (should be out before the end of 2019). So if you are yet to play it, buy it and wait for that update, then start playing.

This game is very time-consuming and I've run into many bugs that I hope are fixed in due time. It's very fun and the amount of exploration makes the first game look bad in comparison, but it seems very difficult to beat and at times can make you question what you did wrong to lead to your death. Police track you, stabber stabs you, hitman hits you, and death is around every corner, so...be careful.
