- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla extract.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
5. If you're using nuts, fold them into the batter.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.
