This game is honestly more for the people who are all about opening packs rather than the store management, which is the weaker side of things. I do enjoy the management a lot, though.

Do yourself a favor and buy this instead of rolling for lootboxes or spending outrageous money with no return in real life. Be sure to download some mods.

Unless you've got an opportunity to buy at a great discount, I wouldn't recommend. There aren't many hardcore servers running, and if you're in NA most of the community servers have poor ping. There are definitely hackers running about at light speed occasionally.

While they definitely did improve by adding the Pacific maps, the stupid decisions that the devs made are still present. EA and DICE are bad companies that you shouldn't support. Spend your money on better games like Hell Let Loose and stop giving these clowns money.

I got it for like $3 and wouldn't put more than that into it.

It's not often that a game mod ends up with a sequel, let alone a sequel that actually surpasses its predecessor. This is absolutely one of those cases. It's even more rare that a mod in the Half Life universe captures the feel of the original games while introducing its own mechanics, personalities, and humor that are not over the top, cringe inducing, or make a joke of the lore. This game is something very rare indeed, and it's absolutely fantastic. This is one of those projects that really feels canonical, that makes you want to play the originals again, and adds new mechanics that are fun to play. If you're a fan of Half Life you just cannot skip the Entropy games.

You'll notice people with hundreds or thousands of hours giving the game bad reviews, and you may find that hypocritical. I mainly play tanks, please let me explain.

We want to give this game a good review. We want to love the game. We have amazing memories of the game for years, but as the game currently sits I cannot recommend that someone get into it. This game survives because its the only that's really like it, but the company is slowly killing off a zealous fan base. The battle ranking system has gone out of control, pitting tanks that cannot compete with tanks far too advanced, and vice versa it allows for you to encounter tanks that you can't realistically fight. This is the same for air battles when it comes to advanced jets thrown in with planes that cannot possibly compete against them. Naval battles are largely ignored and a waste of long lengths of game time.

Maybe the worst thing about the game aside from the battle rating compression that I just mentioned is the fact that the meta strategy in ground battles is to use air vehicles. Yes, you read that right; the company allows for you to fight in air vehicles that can basically auto kill defenseless ground players. It's cheesy and encouraged because the grind through the game takes so long that a player generally has to give the company money to progress through two tech trees, especially if they do not want to spend a long time playing (sometimes years).

While the game is definitely not pay to win, its grind and battlefield mechanics are purposefully designed to frustrate people into either leaving the game or paying to get an edge. Unfortunately the minority of people who pay instead of leaving are apparently providing Gaijin with vast sums, so we can't expect things to change any time soon. Add in bad servers, invisible enemies/shells, paid advantages, updates that constantly wreck the game by adding crazy bugs, and stupid design decisions from the developers (like making tank tracks slippery like butter) and you have a perfect mix of reasons not to get into War Thunder in its current state.

I have 39 hours in a single playthrough. This will be a fairly long review, but for those who are TLDR:

Pros:
- Great environments
- Plethora of areas to explore
- Large variety of primaries, secondaries, sidearms, and equipment to utilize
- Huge number of ways to approach targets and complete missions
- Lots of variety in the different missions and objectives
- Maps allow for vertical maneuvering, lots of scouting options, and keen/smart players are usually rewarded with alternatives

Cons:
- There are occasional glitches and bugs, with skippy framerates especially when opening the game initially. Guns stuck on hands when driving, game will not recognize climbing interfaces, multiple dialogue lines happening at the same time, etc.
-The game will freeze and crash, usually placing itself permanently over your desktop requiring a sign out/sign in of your Windows profile to rectify. This happened to me probably 10 times, so once every few hours.
-The storyline is pretty guessable, no big surprises despite the attempt at making a "plot twist" story because you've seen it before.
- Some cheesey dialogue, with a mix of "every chick who is somehow an undercover operator is also going around with her bewbs hanging out". Otherwise the dialogue and voice acting is actually pretty darn good.

So I spent about 40 hours on this, completed every main mission and side mission, collected every relic and camo, and found every point of interest. What I loved most about the game was the freedom it gave you to approach every outpost, event and mission the way you wanted. Not much is linear or directed other than the location or some missions where you're providing overwatch. The rest is up for you to decide. That being said, some gadgets and weapons just never get used, mostly because staying undetected and collecting information is a critical part to your success as an operator in the region. Nevertheless, if you want to go big and loud you can certainly do so.

I played with a variety of weapons, bouncing around camos to match my terrain (as if it mattered) along the way. Different enemies provide different challenges that mix things up. Exploring is challenging; climbing areas are easy to recognize if you're looking for them, but they blend in well enough with the terrain that you aren't brought out of the experience by them. Overall the environment is fantastic.

A must have for people who enjoy the Far Cry open world series that end up playing stealth and sniper builds like me, with an OK story. Unlike Far Cry I didn't feel like I was just wanting it to be over by the end, I really enjoyed this one. The freezing and crashing definitely takes away from it, though, so I'm gonna give it a 7.5/10. They were definitely going the right direction with this one, I hope they continue.

While the first game in the series deserves a solid negative review, I found this one to be much more enjoyable. The graphics and gameplay are much smoother, the AI and detection system is more refined, and the environments are more detailed and realistic in regard to their real world counterparts. The dialogue is a lot less cheesey, and the story (while still weak) is better/less cookie cutter.

However, this game suffers from being linear and guided to an extreme. Many of the missions involve you working with a spotter who tells you exactly who and when to shoot, and there are few sections where you are given the lay of the land to decide how to tackle a situation yourself. It felt like more of an on the rails arcade shooter with scripted events than a game where you're a sniper making his way through dangerous territory.

It's certainly worth getting on sale if you enjoy a casual sniping game with bullet mechanics that can make it challenging, but don't expect a stealth game that involves a lot of thought and decision making.

I had this game when I was young on Xbox. It was probably the worst shooter I had played, so I wanted to see if it had gotten better on PC. It hasn't.

The AI is awful, I've seen better sniping and stealth mechanics from flash games online, its riddled with bugs and broken terrain, the dialogue is full of cringey macho tough guy voice acting, the story is nothing special or new, and by far the best snipers in the game are the invisible AI with AK's that can shoot you regularly behind cover. This also means that your heart rate will increase and your scope will sway to the point that you cannot return fire. Do not buy this game, even if its on sale like I did. As much as I enjoy the FPS sniping over TPS sniping, the Sniper Elite games are leaps and bounds above this garbage.
