This game is simply the GOAT.
It just has this certain appeal. I am no strategy game player, but this game caught me.
Compared to this, civ vi is a low effort mobile game.

recent update made the game unplayable, from a technical standpoint.
edit: just keep pressing play, even if it takes a while. eventually it will work

the maps are bad and "specialists" are also not my cup of tea. the gadgets are a bit off for me as well, why does every game need a "wallhack" ability? at least its not as bad as siege. but the rest of the game is acceptable

so far, im having a blast. fun to play, not too easy. really lore accurate. looks amazing.
pretty much no bugs at all, which is really an achievement, so close after launch.

could run a bit better though (fps are quite low, so more upscaling used to hit reliable 100+ fps at 1440p with a 3070)
the thousand sons enemies could be a bit more difficult to fight (i am on hard), they are easy compared to tyranids.

i dont like the combat, its lame

the game is nice overall. but the farming aspect kills it for me. you do the exact same thing for hours to get one item. thats too braindead for me

while the gameplay itself is fun, the game massively lacks content.
After 40h there is just nothing drawing you back to the game. It just feels empty.
#The lack of a real story also a big part.
20€ would be an okay price, maybe.

THIS is what we wanted, needed and got.
2042 could have delivered, but they succumbed to thier greed. This feels 1000x more polished than 2042, and **** ea i dont want another shooter published by them. Also this has so many more features than 2042, its incredible. Also, the bugs are, in comparison to 2042, like noexistent (at least to me). And that with double the time played in this.

let me start with the negatives:
The only downsides are that the steps are awkward and the graphics could be better (that i dont really care about tho as long as the gameplay is awesome).
The movement can also feel a bit unfluent at times, but overall its very good. Yes there is sliding, but its not as laughable as in cod, slide cancceling or ads wile sliding is not possible, also jumping is more balanced. So this definetly isnt a clown fiesta like cod.

Pros:
-a scoreboard
-no comic ass skins
-customizable body armour
-customizable helmet
-customizable character model
-extremely customizable guns
-no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ space magic gadgets
-weight system
-balanced vehicles (just shoot them with an rpg and stop crying)
-maps have a good balance between open vehicle friendly areas and close quaters infantry areas
-body armour actually protects just the body
-no clown movement
-fall damage is actually somewhat realistic
-there is a meaningful difference between weapon classes
-the maps feel unique
-no nade spam
-no gadget spam
-time to kill is not too long and not too short
-recoil isnt too much and also not too little, (no long range laser beams!)
-leaning sidewards


i also feel like this doesnt even need to go free to play. these are the best 13€ ive spent in the last months.
i imagine this could be sold for 20€, if more polished for even more. With this becoming free to play i would fear that the need to monetize in some way probably would produce clown skins or p2w elements.

If this gets more polished and new maps (and possibly modes) are introduced, this will be the final nail in the coffin of the battlefield francise. and that is for the better.
