Early Access Review
Game is pretty fun and as far as I know is the only SCP media to take place on Mars (except SCPs that are from there) and is massive in size. Did run into some bugs which will likely be patched soon, such as:
  • Cut-scenes that start for 2 seconds and then pause but, the audio continues as normal. This happened to me for the first 3 cut-scenes and the final one ending Chapter 1 so I'll have to watch someone else play it to see the last cut-scene since the others were shown to those that play tested Ch.1.
  • Either this isn't a bug OR because I did the kick ability I didn't get a tutorial for it. Which in turn, made me forget I could do it during combat.
  • After taking an elevator up after getting it back on the next area didn't load so I could fall into the void, If you run into this issue just reload your last save and it should fix it.

Otherwise it is very fun. You do have to be a bit observant. I got stuck for a couple minutes in the same spot I did when play testing when you have to approach the broken door to grab something before proceeding with the easy puzzle to progress. I can't wait to see what is in store for Chapter 2 and beyond. I pray I can fry those little baby SCP-3199's and turn them into the fattest chicken nugget ever. Glad to have my name in the credits because this was worth every dollar when I backed this game a couple years ago.

Also, screw you Rawrdiin-chan for scaring me with the Martian Globe. My first scare not from an SCP or cutscene but, from an object in-game.

Love the content but, wished it was part of the Deluxe Edition or those who did get it were given at LEAST The Answer for free.

Costumes could've been added in the base game as you unlock them in Tartarus
Music could've been added to the P5 and P4 music additions respectively
The Answer should just be this at $30

I only recommend this if you
A) Get a gift card from a friend or family member
B) This goes on sale
C) If you want to experience the epilogue and don't care about the costumes or music

I recommend this because Cory is a cheap DLC to get
He is fun to play but, not exactly balanced if his UA is charged.

For context : When you activate it (Shogun Slash) it does a melee-ranged attack that hits ALL foes caught in it. Sounds fair ? Until you learn what it does. It does 180 damage + burn for 5 seconds (which totals to 230 damage) and inflicts fear onto the target(s) hit by it.

His skin looks cool (3rd one is yet to be added in due to an issue on GE's end) and I love it. His design looks cool as well and his UA icon is sick.

My only negative isn't to the DLC itself but, rather how he is balanced when fighting him. He is a Power Mortal so his UA is even more deadly.

I would either :
A) Remove burn
or
B) Change the impact damage (180 damage) to be a set % damage like some other Ultimate Abilities.

Very fun game with friends and with new updates on the way to add even more to the game it's worth the money. If anything the dev could charge it for more.

This game outsold 2023's Call of Duty game for a reason.

I just hope that in the future there is a solid way to "win" this game.

I recommend getting the deluxe edition to get this and the other DLC to save money.

For the DLC itself :
Not as long as the main story (which was 52 missions, this one is 14)
A prologue to the main story
music that only plays here
If you beat this, beat the main story, then do new game+ on it you can get the 2 characters here to use...after you get the other party members (excluding one you get near the end of the game, just the main ones you can equip sub-persona's to)

Beating this will also unlock 5 challenge stages (only a cutscene plays for a reward for beating all of them, no special weapon or persona or anything) that are optional.

Pretty fun especially if you beat the game and want a tiny bit more. Or you want to replay the main story with the 2 characters.

Will give you a small boost in the early game until you get the ability to make new and better guns later on. Like the DLC Persona's I would only get this in the deluxe edition and not separately to save money. I recommend it but, deluxe edition, not individually.

The Personas are fun to use but, can break the game if you decide to summon them early on. Best to buy this in the deluxe edition to save money instead of buying each DLC separately.

I personally don't use them until I reach the appropriate level (or in the last kingdom) to use them. If you wanna use them early on, be my guest.

I recommend this BUT do not get this individually.

Pretty fun game for this type of genre. Reminded me of that Mario & Rabbids game years ago. Unique twist to the gameplay imo and pretty fun story. Unlike most of the spinoffs the main story is not erased from the party's memories. If you see the game on sale I would recommend playing the DLC as well. DLC is a prologue and can give you extra stuff should you do new game+ on the main story mode, such as the 2 characters and extra concept art.

Going for 100% is easy but, some can be time consuming. If you do go for this, when you are at Mission 51 (last stage before the final boss) if you wish to, grind and get all the achievements you are missing since New Game+ will save your Persona compendium but, you will be forced back to Level 1 so you cannot fuse Personas that you're missing until you reach their level. Only do new game+ when you get all the achievements so you can relax during it

Love the skins for Kissy Missy 10/10

Map itself, I would say 8 or 9 out of 10 (In terms of the trap time, boss time, and layout) Only issue was the tight hallways that did not do well for combat for some characters.

Shame that the 2 other characters meant to be added to this were cut. I just hope that if they do another DLC for this IP they add those 2 in (Boxy Boo and The Player) as well as another 1 or 2 from Chapter 2 and maybe even Chapter 3 of the source material.

DLC score - 8/10 love the Monster and her ability, wish the map had a couple touch ups and the 2 cut characters were made a bit more clear before the DLC launched instead the day of release. I think the price is fine for what is in it. Although if I HAD to lower it, just lower it to just $4.99 instead of $5.99

Note for 2024 and beyond readers : When the DLC released it was on sale for a week for 10% off

I edited my review after the hotfix and it is much better now. Boss time is actually dangerous and trap time isn't super annoying and tough to deal with. It feels fair now.
