This game is an interesting experience. For starters, I'd recommend getting it on sale with the DLC, it really makes the whole experience feel a lot more complete.

It's definitely not a perfect game. It's not always entirely clear what you should be working on next in a given moment, and you'll need a wiki or community guides to help you through some of the more obscure parts. However, if you're willing to put in a little bit of time and problem solving, this is a fun and rewarding game. It definitely has its grindy bits, but nothing too absurd unless you're looking to completely max out everything in the game (which isn't at all necessary, and doesn't reward you anything substantial except bragging rights)! There are a few bugs, but nothing debilitating in my experience. You can also sometimes have a hard time figuring out what NPCs are saying because their grammar isn't great, and sometimes they'll refer to each other by their names from earlier builds (e.g. the Bishop will sometimes be referred to by NPCs as the Episcop, a name he had in early builds of the game).

I definitely got my money's worth out of it. It really scratched my itch for base development and progression, so if you're looking for that, give this game a shot!

Noita is a good game, it's just not the game for me. I went into it expecting a difficult rogue-like with some sort of gameplay loop-- in other words, I expected there to be some sort of meta progression that would make my subsequent runs easier, more fun, and slowly allow me some element of control over the powers I got and combos I could put together.

Noita doesn't have anything like that, at least for the amount of time that I played it. You are entirely at the mercy at the RNG of a given run-- which is fine for a lot of people, but it's not for me. I'd say I did about 20-30 runs, and at no point did I feel I was making any progress outside of my own improvement, which was only marginal.

If you want a hard game that you have to figure out and get better at through sheer force of will, Noita is absolutely the game for you. If you're looking for something like Hades or FTL: Faster than Light with overarching unlocks that make subsequent runs easier/put your more in control, then I don't think Noita is for you.

I have a hard time staying interested in rogue-like games, so I was always a little hesitant to try this game. But with its full release this past week, I decided to give it a try, and what a great decision that was. Mechanically, it's great. Combat feels fluid and I feel right at home whether I'm aiming ranged attacks, dashing around the battlefield performing quick strikes, or making slow methodical attacks at specific weak points. There's also enough that carries over from each run to make you still feel your progressing, and you get to make meaningful choices that will make every run feel varied while simultaneously not feeling completely random, as other rogue-likes tend to seem. Finally, let's not forget the substantial replay value, with large, end-game goals to keep your attention!

The story is captivating and there's tons of dialogue. The narrative element is what really makes this game shine beyond all others. For those of you who, like me, have a passion for Greek Mythology-- this is a game you will love. The storied characters and locations you know and admire are here, and you get to have a say and participate in those settings. Of course, I can't mention those things without praising the stellar art and sound design. Half the fun of this game was meeting all the characters so I could see their gorgeous vignettes. The music is stellar and atmospheric, and the sounds of your weapons feel visceral and keep your attention.

In short, Supergiant have exceeded all my expectations with this title. This is easily my new favorite game of all time, and that is not something I say lightly. If you're on the fence, I encourage you to pull the trigger and buy this game, especially if its on sale. It's an experience you don't want to miss out on.

10/10 Supergiant, excellent job!

Early Access Review
I am always hesitant to purchase games that are in Early Access-- and I write this review offering you the same caveat. Games can frequently change during production and shift their design philosophy, and it's definitely possible Mega Crit may do the same, but I think there's something special about this game and the company behind it. I am the type of person who loves card games, but often miss out on the full experience because I am someone who likes to min-max and netdeck. This is a game that takes those tools away from you, and I couldn't be more thankful for it. It allowed me to enjoy the experience of deck building and finding new cards in ways I hadn't felt since playing Pokemon and Yugioh as a little kid. Not to mention, playing against AI is a lot less prone to inducing saltiness than against real players! It's worth your time, even at full price and Early Access.

A very interesting game with a vivid story, in-depth mechanics, and immersive atmosphere. I must admit, this game was, at least for me, quite difficult, however, that never detracted from the fun of the game. If you are the type of person who is not okay with the idea of quicksaving and constantly reloading trying to approach specific scenarios in different ways over and over again, then this is not the game for you. This is a game that requires a lot of patience. If you're okay with that, then I think you're in for an enjoyable experience-- otherwise, look elsewhere.

Though I would recommend this game, it is not without flaws. The majority of the game was well designed and highly enjoyable, but I add this caveat: the last mission is very misleading, and in my experience, buggy. Let me elaborate (MINOR SPOILERS):

During the last mission, I began to experience problems with my saves no longer working, and the game eventually crashing, losing all the progress I had made on that mission over the course of about 2 hours. This had never happened before, but fair warning. Beyond that, the mechanics of the last mission itself are highly misleading. The mission begins with your squad divided into two separate teams on opposite sides of the map (not unusual, this happens a few times throughout the game). The objective is to reach a well, and to get the team to "meet up." The problem is that the level is designed with 2 wells, each one nearer to one of the two squads than the other, so naturally, you are led to believe that your teams will approach both wells seperately. Herein lies the problem-- the game prevents you from doing this. After getting inside one well with one of my squads, I exhausted multiple resources with my second squad to get to the other well, only to realize that the game forbids this-- once one well is chosen, you are expected to converge all characters at that one well. Attempting to get characters to enter the other well and have them meet in the middle will result in you characters refusing to enter the well. My problem with this is that it is never stated that all the characters needed to meet at ONE well, and in every other instance in the game where your team starts out split up, achieving an objective with one squad does not lock out an objective for another squad. I was so frustrated by this and all my progress being reset when the game crashed that I just watched the ending on YouTube.

All this having been said, the game is still quite enjoyable. If you've read this review and understand the problems with the last mission, you'll be able to avoid them. In this case, I have no doubt you'll have a fine experience with the game.

Really a great game. The atmosphere, the story-- really an immersive experience throughout. I am someone who has a hard time really committing to games, and having them capture my interest. Hollow Knight had me utterly captivated from beginning to end. If you're like me, and you're cynical about Kickstarter games, let me assure you that Hollow Knight absolutely delivers. I bought it because of the sale, but honestly, it's worth the full price. A fantastic game. Can't wait for the DLC!
