I can confidently say that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a masterpiece and a game that truly saves the AAA industry. The world is incredibly immersive—every single NPC has their own life, making it feel like a real, living world. The open world is massive, split into three regions, and does an amazing job of making you feel like you’re actually living in medieval times.
The graphics are excellent, and the dialogue choices and interactions feel endless. The writing is top-tier, and the story is an absolute masterpiece. While some side quests can be a bit dull, the majority are really well-crafted and engaging. Henry, the main character, is both likable and funny, which makes the experience even better.
Alchemy is a huge part of the game, and it’s actually really fun to learn. Combat, at first, feels a little weird, but once you unlock some skills, it becomes super satisfying. That said, there are some bugs—staircases can be frustrating since you sometimes can’t go up them properly. There are also a few combat bugs, and some quests might break, forcing you to reload. However, considering this is a brand-new release, there are fewer bugs than I expected. Sometimes, combat can feel off because of these bugs, and there’s an issue where your first attack doesn’t register properly unless you “activate” your weapon swing first, which seems like a bug.
The save system is a mixed bag. You can only save when quitting the game or by using a special item, which can be frustrating if you want to save before a tough quest. It’s something to get used to, but I personally don’t love it.
Overall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is an amazing game and, for me, a strong contender for Game of the Year.
