Pros:
Decent scenery.
Fun gathering system, if you're into that.
Semi-fun crafting system.
Very simple combat system.

Cons:
Poor/basic character models.
Gathering system flawed by both bugs and competition.
Crafting system weakened by severe leveling & resource requirements.
Combat system can be frustrating, due to extreme inconsistencies between player & enemy interactions with CC.
Combat damaged by bugs causing certain weapons to not work (simply passing through enemies, and many weapon perks to not function or malfunction.
This game is literally a paid alpha, it has so many bugs.
Many hour of maintenance, many times per week, to "fix bugs"... Always results in many new bugs, rarely results in fixing the bugs stated to be fixed.

Should become great, but not until it gets officially 'released'.
A fun game, with a lot of great ideas, just loaded with bugs, which the devs make no effort to fix.

I've put plenty of hours into playing this game, and enjoy it quite a bit, whenever I can play it for any extended period of time. Loading into an official server tends to be hit-or-miss, but at least (after 6 months as a major and known problem) they HAVE finally gotten the regular disconnects mostly under control.

Unfortunately, there have been periodic (but not uncommon) cases of dinosaurs falling through the ground, and being lost forever, over the past 2 months, and the devs haven't appeared to make any effort to fix this issue. Though if it's anything like the disconnect issue, it should be [mostly] fixed in another 4 months.

Like I said, I do enjoy the game, certain parts of it can be a bit slow, even with friends, but the game is more fun with friends... However, I am hesitant to recommend it, until it reaches that "released" status, since at that point, it will be more likely that the devs with focus on fixing bugs, rather than purely on getting more new (but broken) material into the game.


DISCLAIMER:
I am still playing this game, and intend to do so, but I'm a glutton for punishment, and so just cope with the knowledge that I will regularly lose progress, when dinos that take days of continuous attention to raise/breed, or hours of effort and weeks of progress to tame, simply fall through the world, never to be seen again.
