I don't think a review is necessary for this game, but yeah, it's good. Honest opinion though, if you're looking for a challenge to take on with friends, consider getting the seamless co-op mod. Invasions take the fun out of co-opping, and people will abuse the matchmaking and mechanics to kill you just like every other souls game. The mod not only does away with invasions, but also allows players to sync up to each other's worlds and progress at once. Despite sounding like an easy mode, the mod devs took precautions to scale up the game's difficulty to keep up with the constant presence of allies. It's super easy to install, and it even makes a returning play through a fun change of pace.

I'd say the combat REALLY needs a polish. Feels very stiff and awkward, especially when |trying| to two hand a weapon. I've played blade and sorcery, boneworks, and battle talent, so I'm sure this isn't just a skill issue. The adventure aspect is unique among sword fighting games, but I wish I could just run without looking directly at the floor and flailing my arms around, praying. The criteria for running seems overly strict is what I'm trying to say. Potential, but I just don't think it's the best it can be right now.

EDIT: They got the sprinting figured out, so that's nice.

If I could choose to completely forget something in order to experience it all over again, this game is what first comes to mind.

It's looking pretty good so far. New content has been slow to release, and the total playtime isn't very high if you're just looking for the experience, but the game is well-made. It seems like development won't drop out before a full release. Keep an eye on this one if you're hesitant on buying in its current state.

**changed since initial review time

Since I received this game it's gotten me addicted. I love it so fREAking much. The parkour is ultra improved since dying light 1, and it feels so fresh when paired with the awesome map design. The new abilities are for the most part awesome with the exception of the 180 jump, because from what it says that should be downright impossible by the laws of physics (I haven't gotten it myself to test).

Combat is overall improved from the first game. The first game's combat was very simple, but it had that ragdoll physics that made everything super weighty and felt so good. **This game doesn't really have that to nearly the same degree, which makes me sad**. The integration of parkour and combat is much more well-executed in this game though (get the headstomp, it's the best). **If you were to kick a guy into spikes, they wouldn't stick to them, they'd just sorta fall limp. If you tossed someone off a building, they won't ragdoll like in the first game. They just bloop down to the floor and then do a death animation, maybe ragdoll if you're lucky**. I like the addition of blocking to this game, and a posture system is quite nice.

Graphics are amazing. I love the graphics. Mm it still keeps that dying light style but makes everything look soo good. **My only minor complaint is that the lighting is dynamic, but the sun isn't. When the sun is setting, it's perfectly stationary in the sky. When night falls, bloop, the sun disappears. A bit sad, but ok.**

A few final notes: GRE facilities are my crack (dungeon-esque gameplay, super fun), knuckle weapons (finally), and the interactive music that plays when you're jumping around is intoxicating (I need to hit that high again)

Got this as a birthday present from a friend, one of my favorite birthday presents of all time (elden ring isn't the only amazing game this february)

EDIT: After so many thoughtful updates to the game, it's even better than before. Combat is weighty just like the first game, parkour is even further improved, new missions and sidequests with valuable rewards were added, and so much more. Buy this game, please, the developers care so much about it that it's a piece of art at this point.

Get this game!

I had hours upon hours playing this game, and to be honest it never gets old. The combat is smooth, the graphics are great, and the military system was very interesting. So far I have 100% completed the game, and I still get back on every once and a while to have some fun.
