Colour Shapes is an educational board game intended for play by, but not entirely restricted to, children ages 4 to 8 years old; in hopes of developing their strategic and advanced thinking skills; by making them decide and choose the most optimal move during their respective turns.

The game, Colour Shapes , was created by Jose L. Seño for educational purposes and was intended for play by children. Colour Shapes XD is played in a resizable grid and it consists of two players distinguished by the colors red and blue. It starts with an empty grid to be filled with the players. Currently, the game is in its Alpha stage and will be the basis for a fully functional and deployable game at the end of this study.



The PGGC Algorithm is used as it serves as the best possible solution for the erratic scoring system that the game currently has. These heuristics intend to accomplish a fairer game through better scoring for the players. The algorithm will be implemented to the game and the efficiency of scoring will be compared to that of the maximum possible points computed manually.
Since the PGGC Algorithm is loosely based off on and functions like the Next Fit algorithm, it also takes into account the next possible fit within the container that it is scanning. Unlike the Best Fit Algorithm, which resets it search at the start of the container for the next possible place to put an object in, the Next Fit Algorithm continues it search from where it left off, making it a quicker algorithm; and by extension, this also makes the PGGC algorithm a quicker alternative.
The PGGC algorithm does not directly reflect any known Next Fit algorithm that is being used at the current writing of this document, it simply emulates how the Next Fit approach tackles packing problems and how it handles which certain object or data to pack into its container next.
Colour Shapes XD will be the name of the game based off of Jose L. Seño’s similarly named Colour Shapes game. The mechanics will be very similar; gameplay and player feel wise since Colour Shapes XD will be largely based from the original Colour Shapes .
