I agree with the many other comments on how to appropriately use your 'one' time use voucher.

I returned Cyberpunk 2077 a few years ago when it had originally released, as on my PS5 (which was the PS4 version only at the time), the game barely ran, looked horrible, didn't feel that good.

Playing it now after these years of improvements, and with the 2.0 Update in particular, it is spectacular. The game looks very good on a 4090. Coming off of Starfield's extremely lackluster combat and writing, this game feels like a breath of fresh air.

Game still feels lifeless and dull, but now with armor for sale!

Two new portraits getting added, traits, and all that post launch, I don't really understand why people mass downvote stuff like this.

There are traits, civics, an origin, and new portraits added since the original release.

I think some of the criticism is valid, but it is still a solid expansion.

To preface this, I platinumed Elden Ring, on launch, without using cheap strategies.

This game is not particularly fun to play. A lot of the bosses feel like crap, they're aren't enjoyable to fight, and a lot of their mechanics are just punishing for the sake of punishing, without really adding to the experience.

Specific examples:
Suit with Rockets seen in trailers, it has a shield that absorbs a ton of damage, it will constantly dart around the arena, making it very VERY difficult to keep up with. Most of your weapons have a very limited range, ones that don't are typically slow or have poor tracking. The problem is that unless you are basically point blank with the boss, your weapons will be ineffective, he has a massive shield that will recharge many times throughout the fight, and he has a LOT of punishing combos and other attacks. The shield even when broken can randomly pop back up while the boss is in a stunned state, repelling you if you are close, which it will immediately then follow up with a very hard hitting stun shot.

C-Spider
For some reason this things legs have collision, it will rear up to do attacks, which can almost oneshot your AC if they hit, and yet all of its other legs then become hitboxes, so diving under it can randomly result in damage, when there's not necessarily another option to avoid it. It also constantly spams miniguns, all over the place, 360. These will break your guard, stun you, and let you get oneshot by one of his other attacks. He fires plasma missiles into the air, while constantly firing the gatlings, leaping around the arena (with legs randomly causing hitboxes during this time too, very inconsistently), and then charges up for some massive plasma shots with very high tracking (unless you dodge at the last second or fly directly above it you won't avoid it); you will frequently find the gatlings will stun you just before it unleashes those attacks, which will result in a 1HKO.

This doesn't make it fun. I beat all of the AT Elder Dragons in MHW, I killed un-nerfed Radahn and Malenia. I can deal with some really sadistic game design, but it at least needs to be fun. And I genuinely can't say this is. You will get punished for no reason, take a LOT of unavoidable damage (unavoidable damage is actually something that most game devs STRONGLY recommend against)...you could tell me that everything is avoidable, but at the rate of fire, that'd be a complete lie. If you aren't constantly pushing on the enemies, they will rip you apart while you are far away, and you won't be able to do any damage b/c of the deflection mechanic when you aren't shooting them when you can see the whites of their eyes.

I can handle difficulty, but the boss fights genuinely feel anti-fun. Like Radahn was a sadistic fight on launch, but it felt awesome, epic, and was a spectacle. Random enemies that get dropped in with no build up, and having just obnoxious mechanics, not quite where it's at. Malenia was difficult, but fun. This just isn't fun.

Doesn't run natively all that well on a 4090 of all things...

We should lay out clear expectations for what is and isn't in the DLC:

For $9.99 you get a new Ruler Type, several new Units, 2 New Tomes, and a New Form (the traits added are irrelevant)

New Form:
Lizards
Bunch of variations with regards to head and style, sadly there are no leg armor options

New Tomes:
Tome of Evolution T1 - Nature & Chaos
-Minor Transformation giving more Health
-Enchantment for Units that can Evolve to increase XP Gained, and grants Resurgence (if battle wins they come back) to T1 and T2 units that can evolve (strongest for Nature Builds)

Tome of Dragons - Nature & Chaos
-Major Transformation, decent for Materium, Astral, and Chaos, not so useful for Shadow, Order, and Nature
-Young Dragons, you can get your own T5 Dragons by keeping Young T3 Dragons alive for a long time

New Units:
Not worth breaking down, they're okay but tbh not really a selling point imo, the ability to get T5 Dragons is nice, and the Evolve Mechanic is present on all new units, which is thematic

New Ruler Type - Dragon Lord:
Basically the reason you're buying the expansion. It adds a literal dragon from the start of the game, costs 30g Upkeep, and cannot use most items. Instead you build a hoard over the course of the game, any unused equipment provides Gold per Turn based on Tier, with a new Society Trait it will also provide Mana.
The transformations are cool, there are 6 of them (one per Affinity), and the Dragon Lord has a TON of new abilities unique to them that you can develop over the game. Is it perfect? No. Does it add enough to be worthwhile? Definitely.
Is it overpowered? Not really. Wizard King is probably stronger, the sheer casting points, mana, and double casting you get over the course of a game is likely much better.
The Dragon is a single unit, and despite having very high HP, and good defensives, it will still die very easily (just like anything will that is focused). It has some REALLY strong power moments, especially once you get to level 12 and get your Major Transformation. Breath Attacks upgrade into one of three different styles, and at 12 upgrade again to increased radius and power.

Go watch a few videos if you're curious, I would consider just grabbing the Season Pass if you are interested in this, the discount will probably be worthwhile. Or wait and grab this on discount.
