I have played this game for about 30 odd hours so far, and all i can say is that the game has been punishing. There are times where you have been leading throughout the game, and at the last line, because its a high heat game, the police whacks you off the second last check point (YOU HAVE TOTALLY NO CONTROL OVER HOW YOU YOUR CAR GET SPINNED AFTER GETTING HIT BY THE COP) as you spin off the course, you reset, and watch 2-3 ai drive pass you into the finishing line.

and you are forced to either take the restart and waste the restart coupon, or literally be PUNISHED by the Game and accept a smaller cut and settle for 3rd, 4th, FORCEFULLY.

As a seasoned Need for Speed player, this game is really INTENSE on this aspect, the random spin out in the corner before you finish, the AI COP come knocking you off course from nowhere, or trying to travel between meet ups when your are on level 5 heat. It is Intense because you get a sense that the game's AI is constantly trying to make you fail. But if you are up for the challenge, the game is survivable, but hardly rewarding, especially in the early games.

At times, the game can be relaxing if you get it right. But at times, really really frustrating when the total opposite can happen when you know you should have won but the game screws you with a air borne cop car t boning you in the middle by jumping out of the bush like a diving Killer Whale.

And this is only in challenging mode.

So no, I simply cannot recommend this game to you if you have never tried any racing game or need for speed games at all.

But even if you have played the previous franchise, please beware that this game is somehow designed to make you fail in some ways, so play with that in mind.
