I believe now is a good time to give this game a proper review, after the highest heights of popularity near release, and the lowest lows of controversy, both in regards to balance but also the entire PlayStation account PR fiasco.

Helldivers 2 remains an excellent 3rd person shooter, with some of the most cinematic, dynamic and engaging gunplay I have experienced. The variety of enemies and weapons to counter them only grows with every patch, and the gameplay loop has manage to maintain a consistent fluidity.
The graphical fidelity, artstyle and music remain in the B- to A-tier, though in my opinion, it is the lighting and particle effects that really keep me visually engaged.
The game remains most fun with 1 or more friends by your side, as you spread Managed Democracy to every corner of galaxy, but the solo queue experience is generally still a pleasure to partake in.

All in all: If you think this game might be for you, it most likely is. It wears its strengths on its sleeve, and is transparent in what it has to offer. It is not a flawless game, but it is a damn good one.

8.5/10 - needs more liber-tea.

This game made me question the nature of war and honor on a deeper plain, and forced me to explore my soul.
I hesitate to even call this a game, as it is so much more. I am not the one reviewing Paunch ... Paunch is the one reviewing me - and I can only hope that it finds me worthy, in all its glory.
