Revised on 6th May 2024: WE DID IT, FELLOW HELL DIVERS! Long live DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM, AND LIBERTY!

Revised on 4th May 2024: SONY, what the heck are you thinking?

It's a very fun game. WHEN YOU GET TO PLAY IT.

Numerous crashes and disconnections really ruined the experience.

I really hope they fix this ASAP.
I've been having crashes since before the latest patch, however, after the patch, crashes become much more frequent.
When I bought the game, I would be able to finish 3+ missions in a row, now I can hardly finish a single mission because of the crashes.

Revised on 6 Apr 24: THEY FINALLY FIXED THE CRASHES! I GET TO EXTRACT AND FINISH MISSIONS AGAIN!

A great continuation of Kratos' story.
Magnificent world aesthetics.
Powerful combat scenes especially when fighting bosses.

However, a few things I disliked about the game being:

1. Some mechanics are not friendly for controller users

- Valkyries are probably one of the most fun battles in the game.
Except for one who can dash to your blind spot and by the time you move your camera slowly with your controller to find her, you'll get attacked without knowing what hit you.
Lock-on target won't follow, it just disappears.
And the 180-turn button? I never really use it in battle or anywhere since it makes me nauseous.

- The chests locked by 3 runes, there was one I remember vividly in Alfheim that requires you to be very quick with those axe throws, meaning if you don't hit all 3 within the time limit, the runes will relight itself very quickly. That one got me to use my mouse and keyboard control to aim instead.

2. Two side realms are fun.. just for the first time?
I got excited to see what those worlds will be like, and yes, they look very different from other realms, and the quest mechanics are different.

- Muspelheim: you'll be required to spend at least 1-hour long of mashing buttons to kill hordes of monsters.

Yes, I joke you not. There's one challenge telling you to kill 100 monsters, each wave spawning around 3-8 monsters depending on which kind they are.
Each wave probably take you around 5-10 minutes, and I'm only playing on Normal difficulty.
Let's just say there are 10 waves and you clear each wave within 5 mins, meaning it'd take you 50 minutes just for this single challenge alone.

It was fun at first, but it gets boring/tiring quick.
I just did 2 for each sword (There are 5 swords in total, so 10 challenges to get to the Valkyrie, however, the difficulties and the time they'll take vary.) and the Valkyrie at the end, then I went back to other realms instantly.

- Niflheim: this is again another mashing buttons simulator.
You'll need to keep grinding a maze with time limit for each run.
You need to find "Mists", a resource found only here, from treasure chests placed within the maze, and there are monsters and traps along the way.

If you want to unlock every chest and realm tear, you might have to do 10+ runs, each run might take you about 10-20 mins on Normal difficulty. (Not including the time if you get lost during the grind, you'll need to be paying attention when you grind the maze.)
The time it takes you will vary since every run and room will spawn different monsters.
There are revenants and lizards designed to just take as much time as possible, too.

There's also a side-quest here that requires you to seal all 3 realm tears, which you'll have to grind the hell out of the maze first to unlock.

As for me, I did about 5-10 runs..?
I defeated the Valkyrie, crafted new armors and talisman, upgraded them as far as I could, opened 2 from 4 golden chests to upgrade my axe, only sealed 1 realm tear and I'm outta there.
It's so tiresome if you were to grind everything here. Probably will take you 4 hours+ of grinding the maze.
My recommendation? Just grind enough to craft the armors and open the 5000 mists golden chest to upgrade the axe, then leave this place.

Not only that, a bonus for the diligent players!
Each time you open a treasure chest, a specific animation will play, right?
That animation will play every time you open any chests in the maze.
And how many chests are there? Well, each run will probably have around 10-20 chests.
I didn't care to count, since there were so many.
I don't know if there's an option to turn off these animations but well.. Too late now anyways.

I better go play the main story, bruh.

TLDR: Some side quests are better left untouched, or at least, just get to know it for a bit, grind for whatever you may want, and go do other things before your frustration consumes you.

I hate this game's puzzles, but I love the lore and the combat.

I did have some experiences playing VN in the past, but to be honest, Aokana is one of the best VN I've ever played in my life.
The story revolves around a new-found sport called FC, Flying Circus, where you use Grav-shoes to fly around in the sky and compete with each other with whoever achieving the most points win.
If you ever had any competitive athletic experience, I'm sure you will be able to relate to the story and immerse yourself in it even more than those who doesn't. (Of course, you can enjoy it even without any of said experience, it might just be a little bit harder to relate to, that's all.)
With that said, Asuka for life. I know most people love Misaki, yeah I do understand why, but still, I love Asuka even more.
There are many things about her that made me able to reflect and realize things in my very own life.
I can relate to her in many ways and it makes my heart melts (I meant to say it's heartwarming) and I would tear up every once in a while playing through the game.
Honestly, the 18+ patch isn't really necessary for this game to convey its core messages.
However, the patch does increase the intimacy between characters and lead you closer to their thoughts and feelings they have towards each other.
Remarks: At the time of review, I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm near its very end so I wanna write my feelings down first, and as you may guess, I am in Asuka route right now. But I plan to play through all of Misaki, Mashiro, and Rika route as well.

Still a good story-driven series.
Not as impressive as the Life is Strange 1 but still good anyway.

If you didn't buy all these 5 eps. yet, you should buy it right now!

This game is way too good..
Its story is very addicting, thrilling and so intense.
I don't know how to put this but after I finished it, it made me feel very sad somehow.
To be honest, I love and hate this game at the same time..
Love it for; how it taught you how you should live your life, how you have to accept and be responsible for what you did, and many more.
Hate it for; how it gave me these feelings of uneasiness and hard-to-accept reality, it really made me feel down. orz
Made me cry a lot, really.

Sometimes I thought I wanted to change things in the way which they weren't available in the game, but I understand that eventually you will have to accept the results of your actions whether you like it or not, you know, for the best and for everyone.
