Early Access Review
This is an incredibly in depth space game, and I love it to death. You can customize the hell out of your ships, from weapon loadouts to the composition of your task group. Hell, you can even customize and make your own missiles. It has EWAR, ECM and ECCM, and soon there will be fighters and carriers to play with. I've had a blast with this game.

Some people are upset that the Dev has essentially axed the Conquest gamemode, but the fact that they did speaks to the realization that the gamemode wouldn't be tenable. I much prefer the fact that an indie dev realized a feature was unobtainable, and is going to focus their effort on things that are doable. Mazer, if you end up reading this, you made a hard choice, but it was the right one.

WE DID IT! SONY HAS BEEN DEFEATED!

As such, my review has been changed to support Super Earth and Managed Democracy, although I will leave my original response to Sony's absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ below.

For SUPER EARTH!

It pains me to leave this review, because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I love this game, but I cannot recommend it to anyone unless Sony backs off from this horrendously stupid idea of forcing users to link their PSN accounts. Not only is it disingenuous to claim that we 'should have known' that we would have to do this in the future (since until recently the games FAQ stated that it was not required and would not be required, and there was a skip option on the PSN linking from the moment the game launched), it is foolish for any PC player to expose their information to Sony, a company notorious for their ridiculous data breaches.
In addition, this change effectively blocks anyone who lives in a country that the PSN is not rolled out in from playing a game they paid for and enjoyed with no issues for 3 months. There is already a kernel-level anti-cheat included in this game, the idea that we somehow need the PSN to stop cheaters and hackers in a PvE game is some of the dumbest ♥♥♥♥ I've ever heard.
I loved the first Helldivers, I loved this game, and I'm incredibly sad that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money-grubbing morons over at Sony HQ have managed to ♥♥♥♥ up one of my favorite games.
In conclusion, Sony go ♥♥♥♥ yourselves, swallow a ♥♥♥♥, and die in a shallow ditch. I will keep this game on my account until I'm certain one way or the other that you've finalized your decision, and if you choose to keep this ridiculous policy in place then I will refund my purchase.
If you want a game to play in the spirit of this game, play Helldivers 1 or Alien Swarm:Reactive Drop (which is free by the way and an incredible game).

Honestly, a great game to sink hours into. After a little while the base game gets slightly stale, but thankfully the modding scene for BATTLETECH is incredible, with wonderful people like the RogueTech team. 8.5/10, 9.5/10 with RogueTech
