Quite honestly Warframe is a very good game. If i were to go into full detail about it, we would be here all day. In short however there are a few main points that i believe warrant attention from anyone planning on playing this game for the first time or who have played it years ago and are now just coming back to it.

First and foremost Warframe can be summed up as a whole in the phrase "F2P Done Right" very aptly. The world of Warframe has you plop down into the role of a "Tenno", a skillful warrior with a variety of abilities to wield as you see fit. The three starting "Warframes" (essentially classes for reference) are Mag, Volt and Excalibur, each having their own strengths and weaknesses from a field of energy that redirects bullets toward your enemies, to a protective shield that you can fire through for more damage, to finally a 360 degree flash of searing light that blinds enemies and opens them to "Finishers" (executions/sneak attacks basically).

Following this you continue to progress though the Star Map (Solar System, called Origin) learning more about the history of the system and yourself as well as fighting various factions that war for its resources and artifacts of an ancient civilization called the Orokin, (Factions being Grineer, Corpus and Infested), again with their own strengths and weaknesses that you will become aware of as you progress. Saying more onto the story would involve spoilers and as such, i will continue onto other points.

The world that D.E. (Digital Extremes) has created is quite honestly expansive and interesting in many ways, from a lore perspective for instance, alot of it isn't just handed to you via lore dumps but rather it is on the player to collect entries in what is refered to as the "Codex" as well as to take the time and read through the various subjects contained within.

Another point that is highly praise worthy is its combat mechanics. In short, there are very few games that have a fluidity in combat like Warframe does. When i first started playing i procceeded under the assumption that its movement was standard fair, it wasn't until i started jumping and sliding and eventually combining the two that this fluidity became very apparent, and it wasn't long before "bullet jumping" (a combination of sliding and jumping) was second nature and now the primary way of very quickly traveling the in game maps as well as engaging targets in melee combat.

Following this the game have many interesting core design concepts, such as a Mod system wherein you can increase various aspects of your weapons stat profile to create interesting combinations. This goes hand in hand with a new type of weapon (at the time of this review) called Zaws, essentially modular weapons that you can build for increased customization. Along side this is a variety of attachments, color schemes and variant armor/weapon models that you can mix and match in order to personalize your equipment; short of adding your own content into the game, which again can actually be done via TennoGen (Community Created Content)

An important note for all those interested should be that no money is "required" to play this game, you can grind out and obtain all weapons and frames in game from various source, including "Vaulted" (Items no longer obtainable at the current moment) via in game trading between players. Plat (IRL currency) isn't pushed on you either for the most part, and the decision to buy some is actually a choice, especially for those of us that do so to help D.E. continue to make their game, rather then shoved down your throat at every given opportunity and enforced via limiting player power that every other development team seems to like doing. All of this being in addition to in-game ways of obtaining Plat such as selling Prime Parts to other players, these parts coming from "Relics" which are easy to obtain.

Finally, it would be remise of me to not talk about the enviorments in which you play for the majority of the game. These enviorments are procedurely generated (with some minor exceptions) from "Tile Sets", meaning that while you will still see some of the same rooms, that how proceed through the level still feels varied enough. This comes along with the Tile Sets changing depending on which planet you are on and if you are fighting a specific enemy ("Infested")

In Summary, Warframe is quintessentially one of the best F2P games currently on the market and i would most definately recommend its to any and all that are interested by what i have said above. In my time (490 hours at the time of this review) playing the game, i can more assuredly say that i have not wasted a single moment of it, having had things to do at every point along the way. Thank you for reading, and if you do decided to play, good hunting Tenno.
