Nostalgia strikes again!

A game that I've had my eye on for a while, that sticks to the style of Playstation 1 games from the 90s. The game is similar to the earlier Colin McRae series, which I loved as a kid and have been a rally enthusiast for a long time now, so I'm happy to support it.


I think everyone knows what to expect here, so I'll save myself the explanation of the game here, because the store page already explains everything well.


However, I would like to contribute a few ideas for the developer, perhaps these can be implemented in the future (all optional and just my opinion)

- Extended Vehicle Damage: certain parts of cars can fall off (spoiler, front bumper, etc.), car wheels can fall off, possibly even the bursting of the tire, which can affect the steering.

- Sound / Ambience: more details in the sound such as gravel hitting cars, brakes squealing, people cheering, etc.

- Basic Car Customization (optics): Change paint job, foil / vinyls / sponsoring choice, choose or paint rims, maybe later for career progression more car parts to choose from, like hood etc.

- Basic Car Customization (tuning): certain parts for performance tuning, for example tires for better handling etc.

The game has a lot of potential and since the foundation is already laid these kind of details can really improve the game.

Summarized:

If you are a fan of DIRT 2 and Dirt 3 then this game is sadly underwhelming.
If you are a casual racing gamer then its pretty ok.

- basically this game is Onrush with DIRT theme and few tweaks on the drive physics
and graphics. the engine itself is a little odd for an DIRT game i would say.

dont get me wrong, this game can be entertaining and has its moments for sure and maybe the Onrush fans would be more pleased than i am, but still im split between giving it a Thumbs up or Thumbs down.

Career mode:
some say the career mode is lazy and uninspired but im quite enjoying it so far. there are a lot of races and events to choose from and also some new game modes where added that never been in an DIRT game. much better than GRID 2019 career mode.

Graphical aspects:
Its nothing groundbreaking really. the graphics looks pretty ok, but i wouldn't call it a "next gen" looking game. sure somtimes with the snow and rain effects and the dynamic wheater system it can look pretty good, but most of the time the graphics is kinda flat and dull / mat looking, if those are the right words to discribe it. there is something strange in the lighting / exposure that make the game look flat most of the time

the Motion Blur is non exsisting in this game even on the highest settings and no switch to turn it on or off, of course it depends on personal preference but i like my games with Motion Blur turned on to make it more emersive and feel the speed of the car.

Drive physics:
the physics in this game is very arcady and feels complete different from the older DIRT games. like you can guess its more Onrush styled than a mix between realsim and arcade, atleast it feels so for me. im just not a big fan of it but it depends on the player i guess.

there are no tuning options and no rewind option in this game like it used to in older DIRT games

also the vehicle damage is very light and nothing to compare with the predecessors


Positive points:
+ Vehicle Sounds & Soundtracks
+ Art Style & Personality (mix between Forza Horizon & DIRT 2)
+ Customisation (pretty basic but nice to have anyway)
+ Radio Podcast and Chats are entertaining
+ Sense of speed
+ Level progression

i bought it at the half price on sale and its pretty decent and sometimes even enjoyable.

Still it hurts to say this but for an DIRT game it is disapointing.

Auf jedenfall nicht bereut dieses Spiel zu kaufen! Es ist zwar ein Early-Access Spiel aber ich Supporte gerne diese macher denn sie haben es meiner meinung nach verdient. Noch hat das spiel nicht so viele Levels aber das macht jetzt schon Spaß seine eigene "Maschiene" zu bauen und somit die Level zu bestehen. Wie du die Level machst ist deine entscheidung, denn das beeindruckt mich an diesen Spiel! Die Grafik ist natürlich auch schön und passend zum game.

Einer der besten Early-Access games! vor allem man merkt hier das die macher dieses Spiel mit liebe gemacht haben und es weiterbearbeiten werden. +punkt!

Very serious game!

This game is Legendary. The story and the perfect dark atmosphere with the soundtracks makes the game just awesome. This is what i call Nosgoth feeling!

Hattet ihr langeweile als ihr dieses spiel erstellt habt?

Jetzt im ernst! ich habe dieses spiel für 1€ im angebot gekauft. Der standart preis beträgt 4,99€.
spart euer geld! ich finde dieses spiel lohnt sich garnicht, nicht einmal für 1€!
Bewertung:
+ Grafik ganz ok
+ Leveldesign
ok mehr fallen mir nicht ein.

jetzt kommen die negativen punkte
- Das Gameplay/Steuerung/Physik
- Die billige Rock musik (übliche Motocross musik, aber viel viel schlechter als bei anderen spielen. Da merkt man das die macher einfach keine ahnung vom musikstil haben)
- ähnelt sehr Pure (so gesagt eine billige nachmache von Pure)
- viele andere Gründe die ich bestimmt vergessen habe.

Aber ich würde es euch nicht empfehlen kauft euch lieber Pure oder Fuel oder die anderen sowie MX vs ATV Reflex.
Und auf gar keinen fall für 4,99€!!!
Gesamtbewertung: 3/10- 1Punkt für die Leistung, 1Punkt für die Grafik, 1 Punkt aus mitleid!
