Neva is a breathtaking experience from start to finish. I completed it in about six hours, but more seasoned platformer players could probably finish it even quicker. Still, every moment felt perfect and deeply enjoyable. From the developers of Gris, Neva delivers the same stunning visuals, emotionally powerful storytelling, and beautiful music—but I think I loved Neva even more.

The bond you form with Neva, the adorable little pup, is heart-melting. The game had me sobbing within the first five minutes, and yet, there are barely any words spoken—just "Neva." Despite that, the emotional connection runs deep, making it impossible not to fall in love with your companion.

The animation is absolutely gorgeous; nearly every scene looks like it belongs as a desktop background. The gameplay blends puzzle platforming with sprinkles of combat. The controls are smooth, the boss fights are engaging, and some of the puzzles really melted my brain in the best way. I’ve never seen puzzles quite like these before.

I’m literally sitting here writing this with the game’s music playing in the background, and just hearing it again is making me tear up. Neva is a masterpiece that earns a standing ovation from me. I only wish I could play it again for the first time.
