Yeah this game is cool. Started playing FromSoft Souls games like half a year ago honestly just in time for this. One playthrough took me ~200 hrs exploring everything I possibly could, and I STILL missed a bunch of ♥♥♥♥. Wish I could use "bonfire ascetic" to just keep respawning bosses because hot damn are they fun.

Got this game finally, during fall sale after excitedly watch another friend also playing Souls game for the first time. Only a week of playing, beat it and loved it. But ♥♥♥♥ bed of chaos ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slapping me to hell countless times. Only genuine grievance I have, aside from maybe, benefiting from a better lock-on cam?
Yeah good game. Not to sound like an ass or whatever but not nearly as tough as games news makes it out to be so give it a go, chunky little classic. Great replay potential in trying different weapon loadouts if ur into that. Excellent environments and world building, phenomenal NPCs.
46.1 hours at time of this review, wonder how many more I’ll accumulate over time lmao. I wish I had invested in a game of this kind much, much sooner

Also just recently beat the final content release so might as well write a review.
My very first Monster Hunter game, had a blast the whole time. Loved trying different weapons and playstyles, makes the game feel fresh. You can honestly start out with any weapon, take it from me; I started with the Hunting Horn and Charge Blade lol
I'll probably keep coming back to it even after Monster Hunter Rise comes out.
And don't worry about not getting the Iceborne expansion if you're considering a first-time purchase, the base game still has plenty enough content.
