Picture a sloth. Now, picture the laziest one.
That will be the pace of the "game".
Picture a drawing. Now, picture a drawing made by a kid.
That will be the facial expression of all the protagonists.
Picture daily routine stuffs. Now, picture silly daily routine stuffs.
That will be most of your "gameplay".
Picture a painting. Now, picture a drying one.
That will be the "entertainment".
Picture a piece of cheese. Now, picture one full of holes.
That will be the "story".
Picture chores. Now, picture chores you can't escape from.
That will be the unskippable cutscenes.

To wrap it up, if you enjoyed "that" thing, then you are the one who needs therapy.

While the art direction, the graphics, the details, the voice acting are so well made, you can only think that you're playing such a masterpiece. For me, the illusion lasted around 20 minutes until I got bored.
I won't mention the gameplay as I was fully aware it was more of an interactive piece than a game. To be clear, it's straight forward from start to finish, you can't miss anything and you just got small interactions here and there. So, basically, your purpose here, as "a player" is to listen what the story has to offer. and here, I was utterly disappointed. I never felt anything during my 2h playthrough.
I wasn't moved, I didn't laugh, I didn't cry I didn't feel anything but to finish it and move on.
I was expecting (according the rating) a fine piece of writing, something you'll remember long after playing it.
I was expecting to feel something, I wanted to be a part of the story as the main witness, I wanted to "melt" myself in to it.
All I got was a serie of small stories, poorly connected to each other. And while I was intrigued by a couple, most of them are truly forgettable.
It was a chore to play it until the end. And even then I still had hope that maybe the grand finale will be something that will "have me", like some sort of an explsosive wrap up.
But nope.
At all.
In fact, I guessed the ending long before it happened.
So, the question is : What remains of Edith Finch?
Sadly, an empty shell

My cat loves to watch me play. He usually comes to do a scarf with his body around my neck. Pretty enjoyable while winter is cold, not that much during summer!
The sneaky bastard saw me launch Call of Cthulhu so he decided to take a look.
Of course, all the dead fishes at the beginning of the game drove him crazy! I could see the drool dripping from his mouth, instantly reminiding me Homer Simpson when it's all about food.
He started to meow at the screen like a possessed entity, making jumps all over the room. Quite fuunny.
But then, no more fishes or octopusses and my fellow companion left to another occupation like licking his balls or something...
End of story.

PS : I know, I know... I didn't talk about the game itself. But if you came here to read a review, you should know that in order to write one, you need something to talk about. And as I'm in good mood and don't want to be mean, I have nothing to add on that matter

Call of Cthulhu : Case closed and hopefully never to open again.

Everyone is wondering how comes the idea to create a game. Here's the behind the scene of Kill it with fire!
Bellevue, Washington DC by a beautiful afternoon, 2pm
The Casey Donnellan Games LLC development team (CDGLLC) at their weekly shrink (S) session :
S: "Hey guys, today we're gonna do the Rorschach test! What do you see in picture 1?"
CDGLLC: "Spiders!"
S: "Picture 2?"
CDGLLC:"Spiders!"
S:"Picture 3?"
CDGLLC:"More spiders!"
S:"Picture 4?"
CDGLLC:"Spiders! Spiders! Spiders! Everywhere!"
CDGLLC trainee :"And shotgun, flamethrower, C4, shuriken, RPG and and and.... Spiders!
S:"OK... So, my diagnosis, you guys end up with 2 options! It's either the nuts house or making a game!
CDGLLC (in chorus):"Spiders! Spiders! Spiders! Spiders!
CDGLLC trainee (yelling):"Kill'em all with fire! ah ah ah hahrrrghgrhhrhrhr (There, he's choking)
S:"Great! I can already see progress in your group therapy! You have work to do now and don't be too mean with the trainee!

CDGLLC :"Spiders!"
S (sighing):"yeah, yeah, got it..."

Once upon a time, Resident Evil was looking for a girl. He was wandering from bars to bars. And then, one night, he finally met her. Oh yeah, she was beautiful, kind and smart. Her name was Project Zero (A.K.A Fatal Frame). They talked and laughed a lot together then he took her home and they had sex. A night to remmber, for sure!
9 months later, the baby was there : They both cried of joy and after a while they decided to call him Paper dolls : Original.
And it's more than likely that these 2 perverts will do it again to welcome the sister!
To be continued...

This is a review mostly for the devs :
As good as the first one. Very interesting gameplay mechanic with 3 different characters. Great atmosphere, voice acting and graphics.
However, the story is too obvious, I figured out way too early the "connection" between Sam and Ben. And please, despite the great amount of riddles, I suggest to make them harder. Also, it's a 5 hours game (more or less), double the lenght and it will be perfect !!!
But don't get me wrong though, I really enjoyed the "enlightment", keep it up the good work !

Witness the murders, rewind.
Spy the guests, the mansion crew, the murderer(s) and partner(s) in crime, rewind.
Find everything (objects, secrets, spells...) that could help you to understand, rewind.
Avoid all the deaths and find out what really happened that night and...
The sexy brutale is a fun and clever little game punctuated with a really nice OST.
And in the end(less), it's all about what we're looking for and are afraid to lose : love !
