Found this on its release date and I feel obliged to say something.

It's really agonizingly close to being what I suspect would be the best thing of its kind available in terms of user experience and the degree of control you have over how you want to take your puzzle. You can choose from many different piece counts and several different shapes of pieces. You can start with edge pieces already set aside (if you're using distinctive edge pieces at all) or toggle whether any piece will need to be rotated to fit. The sounds are pretty nice and, as seen in the promo material, you have ample capacity to feel around an zoom in and out.

That alone makes it worth its weight in kilobytes—ALMOST! I definitely can't recommend it OVER something like Tabletop Simulator which (not to mention countless other functions) allows you to puzzle with friends and apply your own ridiculous image to the thing. And, of course, the day one dlc model on offer here is enormously disappointing. It's literally just more pictures. Not even laser cut prints thoughtfully shipped and packaged: they want to sell you bundles of like seven or eight more digital puzzle pictures on a theme. No way, man. It's gotta be better.

I'm sure it has about everything one should expect of editing software. However, the interface is a little junky and hard to manage, and it lacks support for working directly in the CMYK colorspace - a dealbreaker for me.

I will not be reviewing it in depth. All you need to know is that Affinity Photo is cheaper, prettier, and apparently far more robust. You'll get full service with your license and there are many excellent official tutorials on Vimeo wheras the obscurity of openCanvas 7 makes it a drag to even get into. Thus I can't recommend it as even a good launchpad for the aspiring artist. At the current pricepoint of $59.99 US, I don't see it a good value for anyone at all, really.

You play a janitor tasked with cleaning up after the sort of violent incidents we've all come to expect of video games and movies. Scrubbing guts off the walls, floor, and ceiling may seem a straightforward objective, but you'll struggle with zero gravity, belching aliens, still-active defense systems, and, of course, faulty equipment.

The levels, nearly all unique and memorable, are meant to stand alone. You'll find no tedious tutorial, and the muted, epistolary nature of the stories means you or your friends can drop in and out of any map without a care.

With your trusty janitor's trunk, you can transfer items to and from your own peristent office - a scummy sort of trophy room you might be inclined to decorate and show off. There's also a speedrun mode and a level editor, so the goal is essentially what you make it. Whether you like setting records or slapping your friends with a soiled space mop, there's something here for you.

Played straight, the game might occasionally challenge you, but it's overall just funny, therapeutic, and intensely gratifying to the fastidious completionist. Even after hours of real-life sanitation work, Viscera Cleanup Detail is a joy to come home to. Obviously, it's not for everyone, but I absolutely recommend it to anyone who appreciates a job well done.
