Asinine, grindy gameplay, no tutorial and next to impossible without the guide giving you answers for the second phase, all for sub-par animations. Not even worth it on sale.

Buggy as hell, I regularly have an animation lock up my game, not letting me close and continue, along with a handful of other issues, I had one story mode boss not spawn, with super deadly katanas flying around everywhere making it impossible to win, also tanking the framerates as the larger ones dropped items on every hit, which quickly cluttered the screen. The hard exploration map is damn near impossible, even using a cheat tool to lock health, the framerate chugs in the late stage of hard, especially if you're playing it in hyper mode, simply due to the sheer sea of enemies surrounding you.

I bought this game 4 days ago, I now have 64 hours played. It's a very addictive game, you can very easily get lost in the excellent graphics, the large scale of resource gathering and management. The voice over and text is not fantastic for English speakers, but most of the time I understood what they tried to say. It's still early access, so hopefully that gets updated, and a few quality of life improvements get added, but so far it's a very solid game and well worth the $20 I paid.

GOTY material, a fun rouge-like that is abit meta with the story, which gives it an interesting quirk. The setting, art and soundtrack are fantastic, there's some decent variety with weapons and boons to use.

DO NOT buy at full price. The game is buggy as all hell, I can't get like a dozen achievements to pop, difficulties don't unlock unless I need to complete the whole story to earn the harder difficulties, the UI is trash and I can find no mod to make the marine/inventory clearing any easier. It's at best worth $5, but since it's been abandoned years ago, nothing is going to get better.

That said, it's pretty fun to play an X-com like W40k game. It's worth a pickup, but only do so at an extreme discount.

Solid game for $1. I wish that Nicole and Catherine were unlockable skins though, and it'd have been nice for the replays to not have to do the basic puzzles you'd already done, but with them being 6-12 peices it really wasn't that hard just tedious. There was supposed to be an update making the weapons bound to number keys, but I didn't have that for some reason, making the auto-switching weapons a nuisance on my pistol only run.

A must have game for anyone who likes Terraria.
