haven't played much recently but its most fun with some buddies and just 1v1ing each other. Ladder is pretty sweaty once you get to the higher ranks and its hard to compete without a good deck. I think overall it is a good game, my friends and I had a lot of fun when we were really into it. It is just difficult to stay relevant (having the top meta deck) unless you play every day.

As I sat defeated and depressed in the flat grass staring at the sword in the stone, I heard a faint voice whisper to me, "peasant." My body began to burn inside. I was no peasant. I quickly got to my feet and firmly grasped the hilt. I began pulling slowly and steadily. The scraping of steel on stone was grating to my ears at first, but quickly faded away. The sword was much longer than I thought it was. I began to doubt myself. As I was pulling, more and more of the blade revealed itself. It began to show more than what should be humanly possible. The doubt in my mind made me sick to my stomach and I started hallucinating. My eyes were playing tricks on me, the gray blade starting showing streaks of pink and green. As my arms and eyes grew tired, I recalled the faint voice from earlier and what it said, and with that my body was set aflame once more. The strength in my arms returned and the fatigue in my eyes dissipated. Before I knew it, the rock was gone! All I could see was the sword, trees, and the sky. Eventually, as the sword slowly rose to the sky music started to play. I could not tell if it was real or in my head. The sword began to rise past the trees! Light began to shine down on me and the sword, which was particularly odd because it was the middle of the day. The music grew ever louder and more instruments joined the ensemble. Trumpets began blaring, and a choir of what sounded like angels began to sing. This I assumed, was either a message from God or I was hearing things. My eyes began to deceive me again, but this time the blade was outlined in turquoise streaks. As the trees gradually left my vision, all I could see was the sky and the dreaded sword. I had no idea how I was still holding on, was it magic? I dared not look down for I could scare myself and accidentally let go, so I continued to pull. My arms were almost dead and my eyes felt the weight of the world on them. As the music began to reach its climax, my hands started to weaken its grip on the sword, the strain was too much. But before my body gave up on me that same voice whispered to me again, but this time it said, "king." From this, my heart was set ablaze, emboldened by the flame of ambition. With the last of the strength I could muster, I closed my eyes, clenched my teeth, and tugged one last time. I heard a thud on the grass. As I slowly opened my eyes staring at the sky, the light! Oh the light! Shone brightly down on me. I panned around me and there laid the freakishly long sword. Which was easily at least three times my height! I got up and after that I... well, you know the rest.

I have played one session with a group of close friends and it was actually really fun. I have not tried any of the other game modes, but just creating a lobby with friends and playing the basic game mode was enjoyable. I recommend this game, but only if you have a group of friends to play with or a buddy at least.

Risk of Rain 2 is a very unique rogue-like game. At the time of writing this, the game is still in early-access and on the verge of being fully released. Despite the game only being in early access, there is still so much content. It is very difficult to become bored with this game.

I have high hopes for the future of this video game. It is already so great, and could only get better!

Edit: gets some mods play some pvp, lots of fun. The mod scene for this game continues to grow.

Don't have a lot of hours here, but from my experience on the Xbox 360, it is really fun. Great game for its time.
