I spoiled myself on the entire game by watching a video, but then i still bought it; then i still played it, and then i played through it all over the course of 2 days, and then the game still managed to make me cry, and then i think i'll play it again in the future to reflect on things more.

The peaks have trained us for this.

A good, short game that you can finish with a friend in an evening. has some bugs, but nothing overly irritating

This game is pretty meh atm
it feels very misguided and without a focus

don't buy now, but maybe in the future with less bugs and less crashing when you die.

Also, despite being an scp game they're not too fancy. the game could do alot better with spicing up encounters with multiple threats, which they somewhat do but it's just runner-melee guys vs shooter guards so far. it's not very dynamic or interesting atm, when it could be a-lot more if you put in something like 173 instead of zombies. Look at the statue and get shot at or assume the enemy is looking at it so you can shoot at them? stuff like that.

In Barotrauma, you are an alien from earth traversing the ocean-caves beneath Europa's icy crust in a steel coffin being attacked by the planet's natives. It was either your mission to kill them, or a nuisance on the way to another station. The creatures aren't eldritch or horrifically intimidating by any means, they are the result of life in a forever-dark, forever-cold, forever-pressurized sea.

Sounds pretty bad, right? Good thing you have your crewmembers along. They might just be as inexperienced as you, and you'll all die screaming together. Or, one might miraculously save everyone along with the sub, may even be you! Either way, it'll be fun.

I wouldn't recommend playing alone, the game has atmosphere and charm but can die quickly without anyone to share the experience. And while there are bots, they don't match up to humans. Even traitors can be fun to deal with.

And when maybe you're bored of vanilla, pick up modding! Barotrauma has a large modding community that'll probably stick for awhile. And if your bored of that, why not make a sub yourself? it's a learning curve, but it's nice to see a finished sub YOU made. And if you're bored of that, why not try a roleplaying server? Or a deathmatch server? or whatever else is on the browser today.

The game is what you make of it with the people you play with. No one stays alive alone for long, Barotrauma enforces that and doesn't make it overbearing. One person can do alot, but the entire crew needs to do alot. Makes it a great experience with tons of stories waiting to happen.

A nice game that was unfortunately short, hope for a sequel. It was well tuned, and funny. Nice story.

This game is euphoric.
The teamwork is euphoric, it is such a simple game that every team can work together well
The sound design is euphoric, dunking someone into oblivion feels amazing
The gameplay is euphoric, fast, fun and simple.
The communication is euphoric, all you need is pass, throw, and ballup.
And best of all, you can throw your teammates.

Also, there's a free trial for 25 levels, just enough time to see if you'd like it. Give it a try, if you don't you'll likely be missing out, no reason not to.

The game has been abandoned by the company, it's unknown whether they are going to return to it or not, but i doubt it. It was put on the backburner to develop Space Engineers, their other title, saying they would return to it.

In March 2020, they pushed out an update optimizing the game, adding nothing else, and declaring it out of EA.

It's not a finished game.
