As much as I loved the first one I reeaaaallllyyy wanted to like this one but it's just not as good honestly.

So if you also played the first one like crazy here are some major differences.

Pros:
+Better AI and NPCS. Pawns now feel a lot less 2 dimensional and will engage in dialogue with the player and others.
+Graphics are greatly improved while maintaining the style of the first.
+Interactions are more dynamic with NPCs and can now be killed and resurrected.
+Can use ox carts to semi-fast travel between areas which is very useful.
+Dynamic environments with more hazards to make encounters more interesting.


-If you die and revert to save you lose health.
-Movement is worse and more clunky.
-Autovaulting over objects is super annoying and actually messes up combat at times.
-Performance and framerate aren't the worst but it is still an issue.
-Some vocations are drastically nerfed.
-Skills that use both a skill slot and consumables.
-4 skill slots instead of 6.
-Excessive amounts of stopping the player to either chat or cutscenes. The beginning takes forever to get to roam freely.

Wanted to like this game but as I like older style RPGs. Sadly this misses the mark entirely. The game is difficult and does not hold your hand which is a bit refreshing for about 30 minutes but gets old extremely quick. The world is bland and empty with not much need for exploration.

I never request refunds but ultimately even buying this on sale just wasn't even worth it.
I wanna like it, but sadly it's just not good.

So I'm revising this because they've done a lot of bug fixes and added a huge update that just makes the game so much better.

Pros:

+ Big and now even bigger world.
+ Environment is great.
+ Music is phenomenal and really helps set the tone in certain environments.
+ The new cosmetic system is really nice and I think more games should have it.
+ Huge skill tree and other ways of acquiring skill points other than leveling up.
+ Building mechanics are some of the best in the game industry.
+ You can pet a doggo and it gives you a buff.

Cons:

- Base combat while it's solid it's still pretty generic and lacking.
- Player and NPC models look like they are made of plastic and have weird proportions and contrast from the rest of the models.
- Still some bugs with opening storage, NPCs vanishing and auto-targeting even when it's off.
- Random minor bugs still needing fixed but nothing too game breaking.

Imagine having devs that actually cared about their player base....

Edit: Completely broken for me since update. Can't even play on vr anymore.

Will only recognize integrated graphics card and not the dedicated one.
