I bought the game without looking at the media coverage and the released video material to go into this as unbiased as possible. I bought the deluxe version of the game, so that is what I can review.

Let's start by saying: This game has been wonderful so far. Be it exploring, optics, the wonderful music or just the general setting of the story. It takes you on a ride with many loveable characters and locations.

The main story sometimes feels a little railroady and can be predictable but is in general good. The voice acting in parts is excellent and surprisingly deep.

I started to play on medium difficulty to get a feeling for the game and bumped it up to hard, because I find it so much more enjoyable to have very challenging fights. Sometimes you will have to try a fight multiple times but it feels good. In general after you get a few spells the combat feels very nice and has a good flow to it. Some encounters feel like you dance around your enemies, every dodge and block is perfect and feels very satisfying.

Some questlines feel a bit rushed and the motivation of some characters can feel a bit forced but I myself am a bit nitpicky because I really like these characters.
Is the game perfect? NO, but it does not need to be. It is more than decent and is one of the rare titles I can enjoy with my girlfriend. I was surprised by the size of the map and the length of the main story. If you want to complete this one 100% it will take time, I myself am 22 hours in and not nearly done.

In my time playing this game, I encountered relatively few minor bugs for modern games and three softlocks, but the autosave feature is very good to revert these states.(As a tip without spoilering: do not skip the unlocking of doors or locks with "escape" in main quests after you find the correct unlocking positions, if you have to pick something up and this pickup leads to a cutscene it can and will softlock.)

Simple, addictiv, grindy, fun. Good fun for an excellent price.

Ein sehr gutes Spiel, welches durch seine Optik sowie auch seines Gameplay punktet.
Es ist ein Spiel welches man ohne Probleme seiner Freundin oder Frau schenke kann und diese damit vollkommen beschäftigt, obwohl diese zuvor nur die Sims gespielt hatte. Gute "Einstiegsdroge" also :D
