I've been enjoying the game so far. I've played enough TCG such as Pokemon, Hearthstone, Yu-gi-oh and the very recent GWENT (Witcher card game). My first impressions is that Artifact is very polished, high quality and refreshing. I know people are bashing its monetizing model, lets put that aside for now.

Now the game itself feels like Hearthstone in many ways as are most generic TCG available these days. Obviously Hearthstone being a massive success, many other card games would borrow its concept. But Artifact adds its own twist, it has 3 lanes/ boards. A very unique winning condition, either by taking out 2 towers or focus down the ancient. Those who played Dota 2 might be able to relate! I played thousands of hours of Dota 2 back in the days. Valve converted the MOBA into a card game which is pretty sick. The fact that they kept the Heroes skills and personalities from Dota 2 and made it into Artifact gives me nostalgia, I love it!

One of the interesting mechanics that I like the most is the priority. where you get to initiate first or second. To me this is very fun and strategic, where you could bait your opponent and then counter them once they have expanded their mana. Or to strike first before they could play any cards thus render thier turn useless. While the cards itself feels very Hearthstone like, mechanics such as priority and phases resemblance Yu-gi-oh much. It has been a while since I played a TCG with such complexity. Now when I say Artifact is a complex TCG, please do not be discouraged. Yes, it is more complex than Hearthstone but less complex than Yu-gi-oh IMO. And the tutorial did a decent job of explaining ALMOST everything you need to know.

Now the monetizing model.... it is not F2P, it has no grind, it can be placed on the market place. I reckoned is okay.... at least these cards have some value?? Unlike Hearthstone which I spent like over $800 but now it is just sitting there since I'm no longer playing. And trust me, Artifact is easier to get the cards you want compare to other TCG. I like the Keeper draft where I could pick the cards I want (sniping for rares). You can straight up buy the cards that you want in the market place, you'd be surprise the cards are relatively cheap compare to other TCGs.

But if you don't want to spend much, there is always Phantom Draft which is the mode I like the most. You get to play cards that you do not own, so I'd say you don't even need to have a full collection. I would just do Phatom draft all day, I just want to have fun.

I think most veteran TCG players would like this game.

To be honest I’m not expecting anything that’s innovative enough to set AC Odyssey apart from AC origins. When I played Origins, I applauded it for its improvements in side quests. So I expect Odyssey to do better in the side quest department, sadly that’s not the case.

This game is pretty like Origins if not prettier.. But that’s about it. For the first time of all the AC titles that I have played, I felt like I didn’t have a purpose to clear off each interest point. Apart from the main story and some of the more meaningful side quests. All else is but markers on the map for you to clear it off. Well you might argue that previous AC titles were the same, it has always been this way. Yes! I agree but for me it didn’t really make sense, In Odyssey I am a mercenary but why would I go about killing everyone? Both Spartan and Athenian ? And in cities, why would I want to kill off random leaders.

Unless at the very beginning, the game make us choose a side and from there we would have determined our enemy and the killing would make sense. Unless I accept a quest to kill somebody or clear a fort or something I feel like an insane person killing everyone who didn’t matter whenever I stumble upon an interest point. And FYI these interest points sometimes are densely packed.

I ended up avoiding clearing many of the interest points like army camps and leader houses because it didn’t make sense to me. For the cultists I wouldn’t hesitate to murder them because it make sense since they are the real bad guys here...

I don’t know really, at this point I am just doing the main and unique side stories. The bounties, contracts and procedural generated or timed events are chores and boring AF.

Verdict? I’d say it is mediocre, the whole map is packed with unnecessary and meaningless quests and interest points .

I cant progress the freaking story, the game just doesnt save your progression. Or rather the connection just cut off without me knowing. Then soon I realized after the each sub chapter ends, you will be rewarded story feats. If your story feat point doesnt increase, meaning you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disconnected. I have replayed Knight Chapter 1 the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tutorial 3 times already. the furthest I reached is chapter 1.5. The next time I came back my progression is lost. WTF Ubisoft!!!!

I got the freaking gold edition as of 5th May 2018 (during sale), the price cut is a steal for an AAA game. But I cannot in my good conscience recommend this game to anyone since Ubi decided that even in Single player mode you have to be always online in order to progress. If the connection to server or whatever has no issues, then by all means... I have never been agaisnt always online since my internet has no problem, or whatsover.... my ping in R6 siege is like 14ms constantly.
Am using High Speed Fiber ♥♥♥♥.... so dont doubt my internet speed.

If only my playtime is less than 2 hours, I'll definitely refund it!

Right off the bat i'm gonna said that AC Origins is a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Is nothing exceedingly awesome or fantastic, the formula is pretty much what you would come to expect in games of such genre today.

What made me happy of my purchase was mostly due to the sheer amount of content. Granted, it will be a little repetitive after awhile, so keep that in mind. The map is huge, but again I felt some areas are devoid of life (fillers), then I thought the setting itself made it less obvious I guess??? It sort of justified the emptiness since Egypt is of deserts and canyons?? Well, this is just my opinion.

Now, the side quest has been a huge improvement over its predecessors. Gone are the boring/ frustrating eavesdrop and tailing which could result in restarting the entire mission if being detected. Side quests in AC Origins kinda took cue from Witcher 3 and the like. Its still not quite there yet but is an improvement and I appreciate their effort and direction they are heading.

Combat system has also been revamped. Well is a little hit and miss for me, it definitely took me some time to getting used to. But once you get the hang of it, it feels pretty good. Not quite sure if I prefer the Arkham-style combat or this one but it feels refreshing thats for sure.

Still I dont think this is a must buy. But it has enough changes and improvements that I think it is worth your time.
I might be a little biased. Caused I owned every AC title since AC3. I'm one of those dudes that gets excited over the setting and history that the franchise has to offer. I found myself being able enjoy myself even just traversing its terrain/ landscape. The world is crafted in a way that's kinda mesmerizing to me... can't say the same for the others though.

Not gonna talk much about the performance. Aside the DRM which didn't bother me that much previously but can't say the same for this one. I ran the benchmark and my 4cores hit 100%... I was like wtf??!!. Setting at almost ultra, I was able to achieve a somewhere between 40 ~ 50 fps. I tried using GeForce Experience optimized settings and was able to achieve steady 60 or higher FPS but I went with the visuals instead and settle for playable.

I considered myself beaten the game, not 100% percent though which im surprised myself. I was a completionist in most of my past AC games. I felt that I had enough and satisfied. My playtime clocked at 65hrs at the end. So you can see why I dont intend to achieve 100%.

Thats all folks. Ciao~

[EDIT]
Well after doing some research and meddling with the MOD and settings. Finallay managed to get rid of the blurry res... Havent played a whole lot of it, but so far has been great thanks to the MOD provided by this guy ----> Kaldaien.

But still, Square Enix/ Platinum Games gotta step it up and not give us a lousy port. Things like this shouldnt have happened in the first place, let alone community are the ones who are fixing this instead of the developers. Shame on you...

All in all, the combat is fun and fluid, plenty of RPG elements that you would expect for any JRPG. I gotta say though, this is not your usual JRPG, is innovative and refreshing. However, price wise a little steep IMO, recommended to pick it up over Sale.

Hi guys I'm having the resolution issues when playing with fullscreen. Everything is blurry AF.
I know many is having the same issue and I've looked into it and found that a community MOD FAR can fix this.
However for me I just couldn't get it to work.
If somebody could kindly guide me through this....
What should I do after installing the mod? After installing it, I run the game, nothing seemed to change. Help please...

*UPDATED REVIEW* 15/3/16

They released a new patch that claims to address the connection issue. For me it didn't work, still the same old issue. " Failed to load content...... Will be brought offline"

Platform: Steam
Internet Speed: 10 mbps (not the fastest there is, but more than sufficeint)
Region: SEA
Country Malaysia

Please work harder Io-Interactive.... As for me, I'll keep trying for the next coming weeks....
Hopefully by then the problem is fixed, else I'll be refunding this crap...

*REVIEWED ON DAY 1 RELEASE*

The gameplay itself is okay, graphic wise is not that impressive.

Now what frustrates me is the online connectivity. Can't seem to connect to the freaking server.
Please fix this.... Luckily i just bought the intro pack and not the full experience pack. Until the connection issue is fixed,
i'm definitely not buying its future expansion.

For you folks out there that haven't already bought this game yet, stay away for now.

I did not know Deus Ex before i saw it on Steam. I purchased this game because it was on sale, cost only $4.99. I watch some trailers and reviews reckoned i could give it a shot. And gladly its worth the money.

For starters, this game is somewhat like Mass effect + Dishonored hybrid, assuming you know both these games. You might not agree, anyways its just my opinion. But be warned, to me this isint quite a shooter game. It's an FPS, it has got a handful of guns and you can shoot things as shown in the trailer but most of the times you'll be doing lots of stealth, hiding behind covers trying to sneak past enemies. Sounds pretty familiar? (Hitman). Well if you dont like the stealth approach, you could go gun blazing, but i dont think this is the way this game is meant to be played, especially during the first half of the story which is after llike 10+ hours of gameplay (for me) mainly because you could be easily outgunned. Of course you could jump right infront of the enemies and shoot them in the face tough later in the game prior to sufficent upgrade of your carecter.

So..... If you are looking for fast-paced shooter like COD, your wont get it. Its a slow-paced game involved lots of thinking as in how do i get past this, how do i access that, something like that. If you're in it for the story telling and RPG experience then i recommend you to grab it. The voice acting might not be fantastic but it works and it surely gave me a somewhat unique experience that not many games could offer.

I'd love to give it a 9/10 but -1 for the graphics/visuals, so it's 8/10 ! Dont get me wrong, its graphics aren't crappy at all, is just that i adore better ones.
