Really fun and has great music. Super Meat tight controls but with Spelunky cliff-edge jumping. It's less speed-focused and there's more emphasis on exploration, collecting tumors and finding secrets rather than simply beating each level as fast as possible.

at 80% off an already pretty cheap price, this is an excellent game with a lot of replayability, unlocks and challenges. Controls feel tight and quick and running feels super meat boy-esque in the best way (although the jump isn't as satisfying but still pretty good). I didn't find the levels themselves particularly difficult, especially once you find out how to use rage mode, but the bosses (or Minions as they call them in the game) can be pretty tricky (especially the final two in the main levels) as well as satisfying the criteria to unlock new weapons and items.

A short but relaxing game that controls well and has a feel-good atmosphere. I'd say it's pretty easily worth the price of a coffee.

Really short but quite enjoyable game. The story took easily less than 2 hours but the mechanics are really fun, although awkward at first. Since you get significantly better at the mechanics by the end of the "story" (It's not much of a story narrative-wise), the game really encourages multiple playthroughs and I found that I could finish the game in about half the time the second time around (about 40m). There a little bit of framedropping around certain areas, savepoints I think, which is unfortunate but manageable. I'd recommend this game for its relatively cheap price, especially on sale, if you like replaying racing-type levels/leaderboards and getting faster times.

Early Access Review
Great platform-based 2d fighting game in a similar vein as Super Smash Bros. I've had a lot of fun with the game (30h in a week so far) in large part due to the helpful community of this game. That said, be prepared to lose online for a while if you buy before the full release as the current early access community is pretty experienced (I bought the game winter 2016 and it was already in early access for over a year I believe). When you face an equally skilled opponent there's nothing like it but against the better players you can sometimes feel completely defenceless and helpless until you improve and learn the game more. The music is good, the 8 current characters are all well balanced and offer a variety of playstyles, and the gameplay is really fun. If you don't mind spending some time to improve then I would recommend Rivals of Aether but don't expect to win often when you first start playing online.

A great metroidvania title with solid and challenging combat accompanied by an excellent soundtrack. The platforming is the weak point of the game as the walljumping sometimes feels a little unreliable, expecially when played on a controller. However, I would still strongly recommend Valdis Story for it's satisfying gameplay if you looking for a challenging metroidvania game with good, fast-paced combat and have patience for the odd periods of frustration from accidentally falling off a platform or not knowing where to go. Be warned, however, that bosses and the game in general are rather difficult and due to the bare-bones map it could be helpful to consult some forums for some tips if you get stuck.

Short review: Cloudbuilt is one of the best twitch platformers I`ve played and I would place it in the same league as Super Meat Boy and Dustforce at the pinnacle of the genre. The clever level design, tight controls and electronic/orchestral hybrid music are all excellent/enjoyable and make for a pleasantly challenging but fair game with a high skill ceiling. I wouldn`t call it an easy game but the fact that there`s usually multiple checkpoints scattered around each level and multiple ways to complete a level means that you can largely set your objectives according to your skill level as you gradually get better and discover the intricacies of the complex mechanics and each map`s layout/diverging paths. There are over 40 official levels and nearly all have multiple modes in which they can be completed (time trial, time trial with infinite energy, reach the end using the least energy possible) and there`s also community levels and a level editor with steam workshop integration. Improving your rank on the leaderboards and getting an A or S rank in each mode of a level will keep you busy for a long time if chasing highscores, character skins and achievements is your thing (I`m guessing minimum 20h-30h at this time if you just want to get an A rank once on everything). If this sounds like your cup of tea I would definitely recommend picking up Cloudbuilt for its engaging gameplay but if you`re looking more for a story or a casual game you can lazily cruise through you should probably look elsewhere.

If you read this far you should probably just buy it. It`s an excellent game, great value if you enjoy games like Super Meat Boy and Dustforce and I was not dissapointed with my purchase.

IMO feels a little similar to Super Meat Boy. They both have tight controls, precise jumping and timing is required, and very nice soundtracks. At first, the controls felt a little awkward but with some investment you'll find that you can do some very complex movements with ease and you'll be rewarded with seeing dust trails cleanly disapear under your feet. I would highly recommend Dustforce if you're into hard 2d platformers and don't mind a bit of a learning curve.

As a solo player, I felt that Borderlands 2 had some awkward design choices and felt sometimes a little too grindy but I've sunk over 130 hours into this game due to its huge amount of replayability with its many different builds and approaches to the game. While I would instantly recommend this game for co-op with friends or to people who enjoy grinding for better loot, levels and guns, if this doesn't sound like you I probably wouldn't pick it up unless its heavily discounted in a sale.

Tight Controls, excellent level design and an amazing soundtrack. I would highly recommend Super Meat Boy to anyone who likes challenging platformers!
