solid concepts, great execution in some things and deff needed more time to cook.
there is a lot to enjoy about this game but especially in the latter half of the game if definitely felt less polished than the first half. thats not to say the first half was super polished either but it felt more complete than the zones in the later half of the game, the expanded final chapter in the updates is a solid addition and definitely feels like the true ending routes old school sonic games go for that we haven't seen in a 3D sonic since maybe Heros? or 06.
the mini stages were a bit rough to control compared to the fun controls in the overworld but once I learnt them they were pretty fun, however the true ending areas difficulty spike was pretty crazy and unbalanced and deff made the criteria for error more frustrating that the last area even though fun I felt way less motivated to do all the collectables, still got all achievements though!
I feel like if Sonic team does a follow up and work it the issues this game has and simply just improve on it. we could potentially get one of the best 3D sonic games that can still be very different than some of the most beloved 3D sonic games.

canonically the first Adventure Adol has after Ys II it does a great job taking inspiration from previous entries canonically and release wise with a battle system that took me a while to get used to but ultimately felt like a great blend of what I loved of the party based Ys games and the Solo Adol Ys games
story was great supporting cast had some good ones and some less notable ones but I still enjoyed, sailing wasn't great at first but as you upgrade your ship it gets so much better.

the Previous game Ys IX felt like a great game to look back on Adols Journey so far and Ys X felt like looking foreward to Adols Journey ahead as we'll see later canon wise and even in the sequels we'll see in the future!

Solid action game disappointing Metroidvania.

The games artstyle is solid you can definitely tell that the people who made this really put alot of love into this game. the cutscenes and a few of the characters show a bit of inconsistency but overall I like it and this game has aged well so far and will continue to do so.

the story is interesting and well done I defintiely can see this game getting a sequel. voice work is well done too!

The gameplay is great when it's at it's peak but it's frustrating at it's worst. The collision for platforming was just weird for me sometimes when I tried to jump on platforms it just would not register me landing on it. I managed to remedy this by swinging my sword as my jump. (this issue is mostly fixed by the time you unlock double jump which is kinda late game [kinda frustrating] ) it feels like a 2d action game with solid combos and a great loop, though I kinda wish there was more variety in combos as you hit late game I was doing the same 3-4 combos. this game could definitely be compared to a vanillaware game (Dragons crown or Muramasa)

the Metroidvania elements was interesting.. the abilities you unlocked for exploration weren't too interesting and the rewards just didn't make me feel enticed to get them all. the odd platforming logic did get frustrating at times.

the sidequests were for the most part pretty nice side content it encourages you to explore to find cool items and some even opened up mini areas to explore which was neat. and they did feel like the made the world more alive.

Overall solid game, good story, Solid combat (but needs more depth than just 3 combos and the magic stuff and parrying) and it's metroidvania elements while not so good can definitely be improved on! having a sequel would definitely help this series!

**disclaimer i've only played this game on normal difficulty**
this game has some good replayability too I did most sidequests and got a fair amount of treasures too so definitely worth the 10-16 or more hours of content! :)

It's a game by the Long time Indie company Nihon falcom around the Time of the PSP. they helped pave the way for Action JRPGs as a whole and in this period they experimented alot with their games and the battle systems due to mainly working for games on portable consoles at the time. they only started making games on consoles on Ps3 and Ps4. si this was an interesting Period. so these games Falcom made around this time always experimented with Level progression and such in this time. Gurumin is no exception. you explore these open-ish levels and level up in the levels depending on how well you play in the stage.

you also look for items to upgrade your gear in your hub town too. okay so lets look at this game in sections to see what this game is overall.
**Story**
It's a simple yet charming one Main character moves to a somewhat boring mining town but she meets a secret town full of these creatures and is called to save the land from certain beasts. (it's been a little while since I've played it)
it's a short game so this story does not overstay it's welcome!

**Artstyle**
it's a rather old game in terms of early 2000s but for a PSP game and it's limited specs they used a unique style and it's aged rather well!! still nice to look loved the cute look to the game too.

**Gameplay**
as said before it uses a unique style of character progression. I won't repeat that here. I will say that it was slightly clunky with my PS4 controller. I generally noticed that Xbox controllers for me generally have less input lag for me when playing on PC so maybe it was my controller interms of certain delayed reactions.
it plays a bit zelda like and has fun gameplay by Falcom in general!

**Length**
benefit of alot of Action rpgs by Falcom before current Gen is they're mostly finishable within the 10-15 hour mark they don't overstay their welcome they do what they set out to do and has some good replay value for speedrunners or those whole want to play on higher difficulties who want to master the game.
definitely worth the money. and a great piece of Falcom history!

WHile this is a great series of Games the problem is the optimisation. It runs okay this computer I played it on. was fine but It could definitely run better if there were more options on how this game runs as it is now it can be pretty glitchy. if you were to play this game I'd recomend a console port since as it is now on PC it definitely needs some improvement. a benefit of playing on PC is that mini games that require better aim is great since you can change from a controller to a mouse in an instant.
