Is the new peace deal system a bit wonky? - Yes.

Should that ruin the rep of the *entire* DLC? - No.

Let me lay out the things about this DLC that I'm not a huge fan of first, so then you can see if the things that I like about it redeems it for you afterwards:

- Mussolini's Missions for Italy. They ask sometimes really inconvenient things that you can't manage without potentially really messing with whatever you were trying to get done. You can get rid of Mussolini to ignore this, but if you're playing historical then you have to suffer some mild penalties because Captain Bald Spot wanted you to make more planes than your industry could handle.
- Balance of power. It can be a real pain to micromanage.
- The learning-how-it-works bit of the Plane Designer is an understandable turn-off, similarly to all of the other equipment designers. That's what the auto-create button is for, I presume.
- The border gore that the new Peace system can create is just... not nice.

That doesn't seem like many grievances, right? On to the positives!

- The Plane Designer, once you work out what you're doing, is a good bit of fun. Yes it's yet another system to learn, but who doesn't want to see what a bi-plane with an anti-tank cannon on it does?
- The new focus trees for Italy and Ethiopia are really interesting, even if I've not seen huge amounts of the Ethiopian one because I'm not very good at micro-ing the War. You can restore the Italian Monarchy, put Balbo in charge, or even go Communist and put Gramsci in power! Don't tell anyone I told you but you can also have the Pope take over!
- Medals! They're really inconsequential, but a fun little thing for those of us that get attached to their troops.
- The Peace system allows you to take the fleets of your enemies, plus resource rights! No need for one-province puppets or direct occupation! Border gore aside that is two of the most useful additions to the new peace system. Don't want to occupy Romania after you invaded Yugoslavia as Italy? Just take the rights to the Ploesti oil fields and leave the nation alone!

TL;DR: I like making planes and the things you can do with Italy are very interesting. Also the new options during peace deals are super useful if you're not interested in several million manpower's worth of garrisons or painting the map.

I'm a cheapskate, so I prefer to grab DLC on sale. If you're concerned about the DLC but find my comments interesting, then wait for a sale. Or skip the DLC entirely! Your call.

That's my perspective on it.

Do you like kinda grindy shoot 'n slash games where you get to be a space ninja? If you do, then this is absolutely the game for you, if not then you are boring and this conversation is over. Get yourself three friends and this game goes from great to AMAZING. How about a taster of the nonsense that you can use in game? There's a sword that's also a (shot)gun, a jet powered hammer, a handheld cannon, a big lazer, and a gun that shoots saw blades.

Are you still here? Download and play Warframe now!

I recommend everyone plays this game to get a good understanding of how the First World War went:

Arrive
Charge the enemy trench
Die.

If you hate yourself and want to have a virtual representation of you die repeatedly in a muddy field on the Western Front of the First World War, then this is the game for you.

If however you don't want to charge an MG08, then it sure as hell isn't.

Rest in peace The Secret World.

I clocked about 50 hours in TSW, and though that's not much, I can admit that the game was pretty darn fun from what I played. I'm no great horror lover, but the way this was done was absolutely brilliant, and both the larger and smaller stories were extremely interesting, and from what I can tell, some of the story is still there, which is good.

However, what is utterly dead and buried is the old UI and character mechanics. Gone are the days of pick two weapons and play the way you want to, gone is the massive wheel o' skills, gone is the nice big ability bar with few restrictions as to what could be there. I put what, maybe 2 hours into Secret World Legends, and I doubt I'll invest much more. The new ability bar is awful, you can only have one basic ability, you used to be able to have as many as you liked, and that really bothers me, because suddenly though you have two weapons, you have to blatantly prioritise, and each weapon does different things, it used to be so rounded, so flexible, now it's rigid, like most MMOs these days.

The UI got gutted, one of the most unique things about the game has been outright removed, and I'm sat here wishing I could have my £20 back, because Funcom has let me down, and let me down hard.

I mean, if you want to give it a try then sure, the story is probably still intact for the most part, but it wasn't exactly easy when I first played it and I doubt that Funcom would dilute the difficulty, or they'd be pushing it to call the game Secret World Legends, it'd be better named The Secret Ripoff (Pansy Edition).

The shotguns are all CQC one shot face melters, some of the hand guns are pretty good, the cerberus is about a 4 shot kill, the desperado has burst, but I've not tried the Emperor. NS-7, perfect for infiltrators that want to contribute and a good substitute in CQC. M40 Fury, this is just cruel, use it. The camo is quite pretty, but I'm not playing on ultra graphics so I can't be certain. Buy this pack, it's a real bargain and you'll not regret any of the items in it.
