I spent some good fun hours in coop and multiplayer in this game. Needed some time to get used to the sniping mechanics, but eventually I did learn it. It's not that insanely hard, but it was for at least the first 10 hours. I did stumble upon the occasional hacker here and there in the multiplayer, but they didn't make the game terrible for me. They did get banned pretty quickly.

I do recommend the game.

Initially when I played this game around 2008 I was much younger and didn't understand the game at the time so I thought it was a bad game. I pretty much only did shenanigans in the rookie village. So 4 years later in 2012 I watched a couple youtube videos and was like I'll give it another go. Now I hate my younger self for not going through the game at that time. It was a journey that I had no idea I'd enjoy this much. I do find it funny how I know the ingame maps better than my own home town.

Playing the game vanilla or with mods doesn't matter much to me I always find some fun in it. Okay maybe I put a lot of play time into Autumn Aurora 2.1 it's a mod that I liked playing the most. It's like diet Misery for Shadow of Chernobyl. For other mods I recommend ZRP for a better vanilla experience, Oblivion Lost 2.2 and the other versions of it and even the Complete mod.

The game does have it's flaws, but they aren't any major game breaking ones, There's one though I'd like to warn you about, well it's not a game flaw but more of a "if you're a hoarder like me flaw". Basically if you start hoarding like a madman and put too much stuff into your stash boxes it can dramatically increase the ingame area loading time, in my case it's mostly 2 or 3 minutes at worst 5 or 7.

Though even with some of its flaws I recommend it highly.

It's a fun game once you learn how it works.

Ok the longer hour joke aside, I do find it really fun to play.
When I got into it around 2014 I did not understand it that much, but unlikely with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Chernobyl it didn't take me 4 years to get back into it. Took me 2 weeks to learn how the game works, also took me a hell of a lot time to grind the most used weapons to lvl50.
