Played with the pokemon mod. It's a shame that a quality, fun game like this will make a fraction of the revenue compared to mobile casino schlock that is the pokemon pocket tcg.

It's monster hunter: 10/10 gameplay with 1/10 writing.

Short answer: skip this one.
Long answer: The weakest entry in terms of lore, gameplay, music, and balance.
DS2 is the awkward middle child that is brimming with new ideas, nearly all of which miss the mark and degrade the experience: depleting HP, despawning mobs, effectively unlimited health pots, mob density, frigid outskirts, etc.

There's a vocal minority that claim DS2 is underrated and doesn't deserve its bad reputation. These are people that have gone hollow.
Most will say the dlc are great and what they really mean is the iron crown dlc is great. This is true, but it doesn't justify the rest of the game which is at best mediocre.

Good, but the 2nd worst souls game besides DS2.

Game does a great job of teaching mechanics (combat tutorial npc) and fights are fair.
