Pros: Great atmosphere. Interesting setting. Simultaneously funny and unsettling bosses.

Cons: Lack of variety in enemy patterns leads to unengaging combat. Limited color palette makes levels difficult to navigate. The "puzzles" often involve endlessly walking around the map looking for the item you missed (either a valve, lever, or electrical box).

Verdict: I look forward to seeing how the project turns out, and will play other episodes when they are released. With only the first lackluster episode currently available, there's not enough here to warrant a purchase yet.

One of my favorite games from the past several years, even in early access. I've played my fair share of roguelikes, but there's a certain raw characteristic to this one that's truly unique. The synergy of wands and spells combined with environmental interactions makes each playthrough feel unique. In an era where so many game experiences feel linear and staged, Noita offers a sense of discovery that makes your experience unpredictable.
