This game is a jam start to finish, it's incredible how it achieves to feel very different from its predecessor, risk of rain 1. From updated sprites, to updated bangers from Chris Christodoulou, increased map variety, new items, survivors, alternative abilities, challenges and meaningful balance tweaks that fix the things Risk of Rain 1 might've lacked in. Risk of Rain Returns leaves me feeling optimistic about Risk of Rain as a whole, and hope that gearbox can continue to deliver on this beautiful franchise that Hopoo Games brought to life back in 2013.

It's not an amazing game but I can appreciate that it's free. It has superb music though.
