The game launched in a sorry state, but it is well worth the money now. huge fan of build variety

Easy recommend. Great combat, great art and music, great story.
My only 2 issues are the lack of fast travel (maybe just let me travel between theatres?) and the crashing (which will presumably be patched).
Great work, looking forward to more from the team.

despite all the horrendous technical issues, Wild Hearts is genuinely a good game. My PC is definitely not beefy enough to play it at 60 FPS but even despite that it's plays just fine.

the combat and story/translation are serviceable at best but let's be honest that's not why any of us are here
M.A.S.S builder gives you the tools to construct your own gunpla, with intensely engaging customisation options, ranging from something as impacting as your mech's height and core body armour, to something as minute and intricate as giving your sword a cross guard.

Everything else is secondary to all of that, but unfortunately you will have to engage with it in order to unlock all the parts and resources you need. If you have the patience to put up with a story that has poorly translated dialogue with very little in the way of intrigue, then you get to the combat.

None of the weapons feel good, to be honest. Melee weapons all make the same sounds regardless of whether you're using daggers or greathammers, and they all use the same stock punch sound effect when connecting with an enemy.
Your ranged options have a little more kick to them, or at least they feel like it, but enemies get so health spongey after a certain point they stop feeling good, too.

If you can manage to get through the lacklustre story and the only-occasionally frustrating combat, then you're rewarded with a very in depth and incredibly competently put together mech builder.

To summarise, I feel I got my money's worth, and maybe down the line it'll get even better, but right now unless you're willing to engage with all the game's flaws, then you won't like what is has to offer, but if you can, then this will be well worth the money.

Genuinely one of the best FPS games I've played
Ever
When just moving around the level feels quick and snappy, something's been done right
gunplay encourages swapping weapons and challenging manoeuvres making the fights interesting and fun, parrying is satisfying as ♥♥♥♥, and some of the more in depth tech feels amazing to pull off, too
Even in early access it's worth every penny

Having logged nearly 200 hours in-game, I think I can make a well educated review.
I have been a long-standing fan of the series since the PS2, playing nearly every game that comes out here in the west. Logging (at least) 1000 hours into every entry, so of course I was excited when the game came out.
I didn't buy it for a long time due to money issues, but when I finally got it I did enjoy it, don't get me wrong; but I don't feel you should get it if you're a fan of the older MH games.
It functions as a standard huntergame, yes, but it doesn't feel like a MONSTER hunter game.
The QOL updates make it feel too easy in some cases, but then there are some bizarre choices that feel really odd; potions heal gradually due to no longer being stuck in place, and you can move while drinking them, but when you can be one shot by a normal attack, it makes me think that the old healing system would have been better suited.
It makes the game more approachable, but then endgame doesn't click with it at all.
The entire game is riddled with this.
I still enjoy MHW, but I'm only entertained by it until I buy monster hunter generations and go back to the old formula I enjoyed.
TL;DR, if you've never played a monster hunter game before, you'll probably enjoy this far more than someone who has.
