Far Cry meets Deus Ex. Everyone's comparing this game to GTA, when it's far closer to a Far Cry game.

The limited amount of content and no planned DLC are the only drawbacks to this game. 2 modes: dogfights and fleetbattles with only 6 maps total means this game has short replayability before it gets repetitive. Apart from that it's a really solid game, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Squadrons 2 next year with more content as this is a really solid foundation for them to build upon, and I've enjoyed my time with it so far. I just wished it had more maps/modes being developed to flesh it out more. I'd love to see surface based fighter combat flying alongside AT-ATs attacking a base etc, or another mode where one team is solely defending a point of interest in addition to the tug of war style fleetbattles mode.

the least fun I've had in an FPS, dull scenery and enemies (i get it, it's 40k it's supposed to be grim dark, but this takes the cake). Tyranids are such an interesting xenos faction, and out of all of the hive fleets they go with the one that most looks like xenomorphs from alien (it might be Jormungandr or an offshoot of that hive fleet, but still it was a poor colour/design choice), so you're fighting dark coloured brain dead AI in bland dull dark environments that all seem identical, fun is not the word. And then the shooting mechanics, ugh, they feel like alpha gameplay, sure an assault cannon or a twin heavy bolter might have THAT much recoil, but represent that in crosshair bloom or some other way, don't shake my entire screen up and down like I'm going over speed ramps in a car without suspension. The UI and voice over work are abysmal and are barely serviceable. Avoid this game, I bought it with the 75% discount code for owning Vermintide 2, so I spent £7 on this, and it's not even worth that, go buy Doom if you want a good meaty shooter instead.
