I was searching for a new game to play when I ran across this on sale. It looked fairly interesting just based off the trailer and the fact it was a 3rd person fps with superpowers sold it for me. I late also learned it's made from the people who made Quantum Break and Alan Wake which makes a lot of sense in hind sight.

First off lets go over the cons.

Things you wish were fleshed out aren't.

This wasn't produced to be a AAA game and as you progress down the story you'll find once you're about 80% done with the game the pacing of the story drastically wracks up even though it's been steady and mostly fleshed out if you did the side content(quests) throughout the entire game. IMO it's because they weren't given the budget needed to make this a best seller. Specifically after you meet P6 things start to become really rushed. Once you meet P6 you have about 3-5h left out of a 20h game before the main story line ends. And the game hypes it up throughout the entire duration of those 15h. After meeting P6 the game could've easily lasted another 10-15h but I feel they just didn't have the budget and did the best they could. To clarify the ending isn't bad it's just not great and lacks a punchline imo. That may change after I finish the dlc.

Load times and texture pop-in.

If you choose directx11 you will have no texture pop-in but atrocious load times. If you choose directx12 you will have extremely fast load times and texture pop-in.

Save issues.

Can't really comment, I didn't have any running it through steam but apparently it happens enough for other people.

Now onto the pros.

Atmosphere and music.

The entire game takes place inside an o.o.p.(object of power) that has infinite space and many other supernatural abilities that you'll find out later in the game. From start to finish the game does a very good job with the atmosphere and mood it's trying to be perceived in. It will be scary for the first few hours but once you realize what the game is everything will be a bit less scary. This also plays into how the character you play, Jesse Faden progresses. The music plays a big part in how you're supposed to feel and fits pretty seamlessly.

World building.
It's amazing in fact it's probably the most fleshed out part of this game and without it this game wouldn't be worth playing. Audio recordings found around the entire buildings, little puppet shows created for the people inside the building, the explanation of why the puppet show was created found on a text file somewhere in the building, videos explaining everything and certain aspects of the world played from projectors. All of this can be collected and stored to be replayed instantly at your convenience.

Character progression and narrative.

At the start of the game you enter the building with nothing but your own hands and feet and some clothes to cover yourself. You feel scared and powerless about the situation you've put yourself in and rightly so because you very much are. As you progress through the game dominating more o.o.p. gaining more powers, and becoming increasingly powerful you become battle hardened along with Jesse Faden becoming that which you are tasked with controlling. As the game would say, the eye of the storm. Once a helpless lamb to the slaughter now the fearless hunter using fire to fight fire.

Combat and difficulty.

The nature of having auto saves only and no out of combat health regeneration and the only way to recover health being a check point of "damaging" enemies means that you will die, quite a bit. Mostly for dumb and frustrating reasons while you learn how to play the game. Overall it's not too hard and not too easy considering there's only 1 difficulty I like it. You feel powerful depending on your build but also face the natural consequences of ignoring your weaknesses that can be exploited by the enemy.

All in all it's worth the $40 price tag. Even more if it's on sale.

Stay away from ITOS and any game hosted by IMC.

Casual glance at the forums and you'll understand the state of the game.

The game is fairly old(2004) and is basically broken when you receive it, but don't worry this is the best vampire game currently out as of 2017, hopefully Vampyr(2018) doesn't suck.

This game by no exagration is the best vampire game you can play that isn't a hack and slash. There are many mods for the game that are actively updated til this day and many guides for all technical errors you might receive and though I wouldn't buy it full price you'll definitely get your hours out of it.

Blades of Time the successor to X-Blades and awful incomplete hack and slash that will amuse you for maybe 3 bosses before you realize how broken and unfinished the game is.
Back to BoT, similar to X-Blades it feels like an older game that doesn't exactly hold your hand and thrusts you out into the world of unknown.

You'll quicky catch on that there are no combos just button mashing and learning to dodge and abuse your time rewind ability. In this factor the game gets better as you progress and get amazingly cool abilities to fight off even more challenging monsters.I played on hardmode without realizing you could go to normal mode and didn't repeat a level more than 5 times because of the usually good check points.

The mechanics overall are good and you run into some fun, interesting, and also annoying puzzles.
They also have treasure chests throughout the levels that reward loot.Though I've only gotten a total of 2 swords through my entire first play through. One at the very beginning of the game from a chest, the other from the boss before the final boss.Considering there are a large amount of swords in the game it kind of makes you wonder.

This game is definitely not worth the retail price and you shouldn't buy it unless you find it on sale like I did for the ultimate edition($7.50)
By the time you start to get some really cool abilities and you figure out how to use your abilities properly you realize you're practically done with the game and that there are some unpatched bugs that make doing the final boss annoying as all hell due to his mechanics.Thankfully there is a work around.

Overall I give it a 5.9/10 for a time waster mainly because some of the mobs don't even have a mechanic other than to make your life a living hell.

****SPOILERS DON'T BE A FOOL****

Saints row 4 the craziest game of the year without a doubt.
Branching off from saints row the third comes saints row 4 not leaving steelport and instead later becoming the president you are attacked by an unknown alien named zinyak who abducts you and your screw and anyone else who deems worthy and then... blows up the earth...
I never really got over the fact that I was actually just playing in a simulator and that the earth was actually destroyed.
Sure the super powers were fun but the depressing fact is earth is destroyed and half the time you're in a tube in zinyak's base.
Sure you rescue your crew but the earth is still destroyed and you're still a failure, it's like matrix it's depressing and honestly It was a dark turn for the saints row series especically after saints row the third easing up on heavy depressing storylines that are usually forced due to gang relation.
And even when it was said zinyak had a time machine why wasn't that already a mission? A dlc maybe but an entire new game just for that nty, it would've been so much more satisfying if you returned to earth to the way it was prior to its destruction.

All in all the gameplay is fun and replayable especically with friends just don't think to heavy about the fact you're basically playing a funny verison of the matrix and you'll enjoy the game alot. The storyline was fairly predictable yet kept you intrigued despite forced side missions(activities) like the first game.

With tons of replay-ability with friends or no friends I give saints row a 7.5/10

Even on a sale this game would get a 4/10 at best from me.
This game gives you two options of play, Stealth or Death.
Many people think that the stealth is actual bs and its effin impossible to do-it's not, it's just stupid as ♥♥♥♥.
I found my self a good amount of the time having to stop and think outside the box when I actually needed to finish a level
I never really found anyway of the gameplay fun, not to mention the voice acting as stoic and the subtitles were wrong.

The powers you gain through level up are extremely imbalanced half of them don't even have a use because the other skill does the same thing but better.

Long story short-because it's 4 AM in the morning this game isn't worth buying, if you ever beat it you will never play it again.
