It's pretty unique and the squad mechanics are fun to use, but some encounters break down into shooting dozens of rounds with your pistol since you're out of ammo for everything else.

Also I'm not going to spoil the story, but the game ends on a cliffhanger that really feels like they were setting up for a second game. Something unlikely to ever happen at this point.

It has great skill-based gameplay that feels satisfying to improve and master. There's lots of different things to climb, and they feel pretty different from each other. I liked how a lot of the climbs actually have a lot of options for routes, and as you get better you get a better eye for finding new routes you hadn't considered.

Don't understand why there's not a resolution option in settings though. I had to do some googling to find out you need to set it in launch options.

In this game you can either make do with the bare minimum setup to get the network running, or you can go full autist and spend hours staring at the same setup. All to stop a few packets from dropping. You decide.

As a fan of Helldivers 1, this game is a true sequel that builds upon and improves most of the mechanics that were carried over. It also introduces a new perspective in a great way.

It's a little rough around the edges, but it's pretty good.

To clarify, there are times throughout the game where it seems like there were two separate ideas about how things would work. For example, at one point in the game you find a vehicle, and upon finding it the mission ends immediately. Then you go back to the zone the next day, and at the end of THAT mission you return to get a cutscene talking about the vehicle you found yesterday as if you had just found it.

I also noticed there was a texture that had the typo "authorized personal only" written on it, which I found kind of funny.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Roguelikes/lites. I don't dislike the genre but I tend to get bored of it quickly. But, this game blends the roguelite aspect with a colony sim, and the two bounce off of each other often and quite well. I feel like this keeps things from getting too boring, and keeps everything fresh. Plus the art style is super good, nice blend of cute and edgy like the binding of isaac, although I prefer this style more.

Fun game, but the population is weird as ♥♥♥♥. I've played this off and on since it came out in 2014, and this game constantly goes into periods of low player population. One or two months of popularity and then suddenly the daily population drops to under 1000 until the next boost. During these periods it's pretty easy to end up playing against the same people, especially when you queue at the same time. I've even played with top 100 leader board players multiple times, sometimes the same ones. Keep that in mind if you decide to get this.

It's pretty good.
